I am a graphics whore. I love graphics, I see them as a huge part of the game. I spend $500 upgrading my PC just to play oblivion maxed out. Im going to spend another $300 on a 8800 gts for crysis.i agree i think graphic is the real deal
We all enjoy games with great gameplay, but i'll admit no matter how good the gameplay if the graphics suck it would be very hard for me to enjoy that game.
IMO Graphics = Gameplay

I am not a graphics whore. Sure, I did upgrade my PC's video card last year from an FX 5500 to a 6800 XT, but I'm done with that and I'm content. I have a ton of games from 1998 - 2005 that i haven't even played yet!
As for consoles, I have about 25 games for my GC, and no consoles for this generation. While I may get a 360 at some point, I most likely will get a Wii instead, depending on how the heavies turn out later this year.
Gameplay > Graphics
However, I will say this, Graphics are nearly as important as gameplay when it comes to games that rely heavily on Atmosphere.
I love graphics just as much as the next person. But if a game with uber graphics and terrible gameplay (farcry) comes along, I dont rate it at all. The graphics and neat little touches can keep you amused for an hour or so....but after that its all about the gameplay, without any gameplay, its just a tech demo.VinnoT
no no and no! The ONLY SINGLE thing that counts is gameplay. If bad graphics make a bad game for you, then the gameplay will be bad. If you don't care about graphics, the gameplay will be good. See? Gameplay is ''how fun the game is to play'' so if you don't like bad graphics, the game will have bad gameplay for you.Timesplitter14I'd usually agree with such a statement. But pondering over WindWaker made me realise that graphical style can effect gameplay heavily. But I also understand that no amount of graphical savvyness can save the travesty that is known as Big Rigs.
Yeah, great graphics are awesome. I mean, Gears would not be as good without its fantastic visuals.actually pokemon D/P will use 2d graphics for the characters and 3d graphics for the towns, over worlds, and some of the attack effects.
However, I'm not obsessed with good graphics. My 2nd most antipated game of this year is a 2D RPG, Pokemon.

(about the Zelda part)
That's my point. I had that same feeling with Okami. Graphics can affect gameplay, so only gameplay counts in the end.

I like great graphics as much as anyone but it is never a decision maker in whether or not I buy a game.cakeorrdeathSame. I will though in time upgrade my system's specs so I am able to play Oblivions, not because of graphics a game can produce but the gameplay and overall enjoyment of that game.
