am i the only one who thinks that DMC4 looks a bit underwhelming?

i mean atleast graphically it looks like it... and why do i get the feeling that it won't be a major upgrade over the past titles?

so what do you guys think? will the game be different from its current build at the time of the release? is there something more to it that the already released info and footage?

and basically do you think it's gonna be like DMC1 (revolution) DMC3 (evolution) DMC2 (plain Meh)? or something completely different?

I doubt there will be much improvement in the gameplay either.

pretty much. the only major gameplay enhancement seems the devil arm thing. i also prefer dantes rapid firing duel handguns over the slower blue rose. but seeing as how dantes going to be playable it should be all good.

I heartily agree - I've had reservations about DMC4 for a while now. Graphically it seems like the only real step forward. The biggest problem is the only decent designs (the ice creatures) are re-hashes of designs from the best game in the series, the original, and the new creatures just look like a mess. Reeks of the DMC2 design team to me, which, whilst they stepped their game up for some of the designs in DMC3, still had their selection of duff enemy designs throughout DMC3.

I'm just not convincend, and not sure I will be till the game is released, and then it's gonna have to impress me majorly for me to get as excited about it as so many others are.

I agree that it does not look very good.

The original Devil May Cry, as I remembered it, looked fantastic. 3 was a little underwhelming, but not unreasonably so, and not nearly as impressive as the original.

i think they are using the same engine but with better textures and lighting cuz u can always add more of that due to better hardware.

And btw NG:Sigma destroys DMC4 in the graphics department by far.

imo ngs isn't very impressive either. heavenly sword looks better than both of them tbh.

and that's what mostly bugs me!! i mean if it was released a year ago i wouldn't be this concerned, but come ON we're about to get the second wave of PS3 titles and third wave of X360 titles yet CAPCOM decides to throw something that looks less impressive that it's first next gen title at us?! (dead rising if i'm not mistaken is the first and looks way better IMO)

among the newer games out now it does look a little less graphical for sure..

i think so too, cows were just glad that they have a CAPCOM exclusive and lems just wanted to maintain their status as CAP's fav breed, i think that was only thing that this title had going on, now that it's multiplat... everyone suddenly decided to turn their heads and something else to fight over :lol:

Nah, I just got to thinking of how many times I had seen DMC4 pics at the forefront of countless, "Reasons why the PS3 will destroy _____" picture threads, and how all that disappeared the moment its exclusivity was lost.

I think it looks gorgeous, especially when you look at how fast the action is. I don't know if you guys have seen a new video but the ones i saw was about a month or3 ago were awesome. The one in which he fights that huge fire demon. This game will be awesome. The demon arm looks like a great addition to the gameplay.

DMC2,3 didn't really have all that great graphics for their time.. DMC4 is a massive improvement over them.. So they are good enough, not every game needs to have Gears of War graphics and above to be good.. infact no game needs gears of war graphics to be good, as long as they look next gen.

You can clearly see DMC4 looks tons better and more detailed than DMC3 :| So underwhelming :| maybe by gears of war and crysis standards but I don't expect those type of graphics in all my games.
