....Be it offline or competitive multiplayer I certainly enjoy Third person shooter's over the more popular FPS counterpart.

while I too enjoy fps games, I would like to see more tps. I like games like geow,mgs4,and graw which plays in tps. and I wish a game like r6v(2) and fallout 3 had better third person camera.
No, I do. I like being able to see my character, I could care less about what the gun or their hand looks like.
TPS and FPS both have their place.
I preffer FPS especially on PC. I don't know why but playing a TPS with a mouse sucks but with a game pad it's enjoyable? I can't explain it.
I preffer FPS (with a mouse) but if I were to play TPS I would play with a gamepad.

Hm...I see.
Same here. It's more about the perspective than anything else. I like to see myself doing work.TheGrat1
Nicely put.

i like both...both have advantages and disadvantages.
Depends. Games like Tomb Raider I can't imagine playing in first person.
On the other hand, there are games when I like the character to be me. It'd have to first person to complete the illusion. That's not just for shooters. I like the first person person perspective in driving games and flight/combat sims as well. Of course, those type of games also offer 3rd-person viewing as well.
depends on the game. Red Faction Guerrilla, and Gears of War work really well as TPS. COD doesn't work at all as tps, but feels great as fps. I think bioshock would of been better as tps though many of the environments were small the gameplay would go over better. I also think halo would be a good candidate for tps.
I find most FPS games to be less about skill and planning and more about seeing the enemy before they see you. TPS gives you a chance to examine the environment around you and forces you to plan your attacks. The only TPS I can't stand playing is Metal Gear: Online mainly because it is terrible game.

Me too :P I rather play TPS too.Same! I remember watching my friend play Call of Duty 3 (? Not sure which one. Too many of them) on the 360 when it first came out, and I had such a headache.

D'awwww I love MGO.
I do like some TPS. I remember playing Gears of War on my PC back in 2008. I had a lot of fun with it.
