PC gamers have had much better visuals in Skyrim for many years.

What's amazing about this? I saw this Skyrim like 4 years ago on PC.

all the pc guys here that say they play the remasterd version already on the pc don't mention how many times they reinstalled the game and revert back to old saves though.

As someone who played this on PC and installed plenty of graphics mods, I think this looks pretty damn good. I may try it out. I could never get a steady 60fps with mods.

I'm assuming that since PC gamers have been able to emulate these graphics or even surpass them in a lot of ways on the PC, Bethesda probably saw no point in trying to charge PC gamers for the game if they already owned Skyrim + all DLCs, since nobody would bother to buy it since we could get all of that for free.

This is a smart move by Bethesda and shows that they are aware of their market.

I'm looking forward to the base game of Skyrim being much better looking and running on a proper 64 bit engine.

Everyone of them saying "oh this isn't impressive" will probably install it day 1, just like how everyone who says Skyrim sucks has played 500 hours.

All this posturing is nothing more than transparent hypocrisy.

Big advantage of this version over modded Skryim is the engine is now 64 bit and the renderer has better lighting effects. I think a lot of the texture and object replacement mods to make base Skyrim look better will easily apply to this version but have the benefit of having more RAM and a better base renderer. ENBs can only do so much.

ENBs will still work with this too, they'll just enhance it even further.

I think with this Special Edition as the base, we're going to see some really sexy stuff coming out of the modding community.

Hope they fixed the vsync and anything over 60hz bug. As seen as the remaster is 64bit on the PC I think it will be. If you played with vsync off or over 60hz skyrim would go crazy.

The Xbox one is the last console i would buy this game on for 60 dollars.

Why wouldn't get the GDDR 5 2.5 GPU version on the ps4 same price higher specs better running game and a nicer controller.

Also, Bethesda games have a history of running better on Xbox (inc fo4, where my ps4 version dipped pretty bad at times)

Plus, Xbox one has better mod support because Sony is full of themselves.

And the elite controller shits all over ps4 controller, thus I will get it on Xbox.

If you ignore the pc versions, taking it purely on the basis of the previous console versions, it does seem like abit of an upgrade. At least compared to other supposed remasters, that are tantamount to turning the resolution up.

I see more Xbox or PS-only gamers bragging/fighting about their respective consoles' abilities. This is the thing though : when a console gamer claims bs about "graphics king" or such, he's being ridiculous. When a PC gamer does the exact same thing, he's being right. Arrogance isn't particularly praise-worthy, but being arrogant when you have nothing to brag about in the first place is far worse.

This is false, several effects have been added. The lighting alone is noticeably better.

Not sure why you are trying so hard to tar this, yes, most remasters are shit cash ins, but as far as remasters goes, this is clearly one of the better ones. Certainty better than Bioshocks. The video indicates it outdoes pc modders in some respects, and side from that, can be modded on top of, improving pc visuals even further, with higher performance.

You like this remaster so you are willing to overlook its flaws, fine.

Saying this is the lesser lazy remaster is just you being subjective though, influenced by you liking this remaster or the original game or whatever. Fine.

Also, "you can further improve the graphics with mods" isn't really attesting to the strength of this remaster.

Well no, I generally couldn't give a shit about Bethesda titles, I still haven't bought, and generally have little intention of buying Fallout 4.

However, there is alot more going on here than simply setting it to 1080p, to say otherwise is just plain false.

there will be more Mods on the Xbone version, mods will be on Ps4 but more limited.

besdides, it's remaster and will be identical on both platforms, i have seen gamplay footage from both versions.

And yeah I did play Vanilla Skyrim. Without SkyUI the game was pretty cumbersome to control.
