...for now. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Wii-32GB-Premium-Pack/dp/B008B5YB4W Customer complains product not as described, item is taken down. I did not know people could stop the flow of sales so easily, in such a competitive marketplace. I've a feeling a fanboy is behind this, and if it can happen to the Wii U, it can happen to the PS4, or Xbox One. As much as I beat on the Wii U, I still have to admit that this is a new low.

Yes. The situation is dire.

A supplier was having a Queen's Birthday sale, I looked through the likst of Wii U games 3 times and couldn't find a single thing to buy.

So instead I persisted with Borderlands 2 on computer.

it's directing front page for the product to third parties because they're currently not selling it, prior to this Amazon was selling it for £229

I believe Amazon ran out of stock themselves, because sales of the Wii U jumped literally 900 percent after the Xbox One reveal.  There were news articles on it.  So now most of those available are through third parties via Amazon - which may mean dubious quality.  I'm always wary of third party sellers on Amazon, so this doesn't surprise me.

The price has also doubled to what it was before the Xbox One reveal (they had knocked it down to £149.99).  I think Nintendo should be thanking Microsoft at this point. :P

This is due to a 3rd party seller, and is not the fault of Nintendo or Amazon. It's also not necessarily due to a fanboy; the 3rd party seller may be in the wrong.

No. The Saturn had a good run. The Dreamcast and 3DO had good runs. The Wii U tripped at the starting line and never got back up.

Why would this be caused by a third party? It doesn't make sense that Amazon would stop selling Wii U because third parties are selling items that don't match the description. Are you just making this assumption because the front page of the Wii U lists a 3rd party seller? Or was this reported on with more details?

Amazon UK does sell Wii Us, it's redirecting from third parties because like the original post says they're not currently selling it at the moment. Is there contagious stupidity going around?

Probably issues with Nintendo. Doubt it has to do with low sales or low interest. Amazon US stopped carrying the 3DS months (I believe) after launch after customer complaints as well. It never began to sell the system again to this day.

8GB

The only variants Amazon are still selling are the ZombiU and Monster Hunter ones.

Click on "new" to get a listing of other sellers, which includes Amazon, Amazon is still selling the 8GB. Amazon isn't listed on 32GB list of sellers because, as the original post says they're not selling it for a reason, so duh, of course a 3rd party seller is going to be listed, that doesn't mean the problem originated with a 3rd party, it doesn't mean it has anything to do with a 3rd party.

I agree about getting the Wii U, but dont you think you are judging the xbox and ps4 a little early.

Not on Amazon in the United State, they do everywhere else, Amazon UK, Amazon JP, Amazon Canada. Don't play stupid.
