AMD Claims next xbox will achieve avatar like visual

looks like while Nintendo's Wii U still stick to the innovative gaming environment + acceptable graphic, , M$'s next gen console direction is still pushing the horsepower to an extreme path. ------>

Not possible. It took hours and clusters of computers to render frames for Avatar.

it took 4000 servers measuring 10k sq ft with a total 35,000 cores to render Avatar NOT IN REALTIME. Each frame probably takes a couple hours to render. Cameron said that some frames took up to 50hrs to render. Lets not have a repeat of the PS3 super computer BS.

I'll give it 10 years :P You never know with AMD. Their solution to everything is MOAR CORES!!!

Hopefully each game's story won't be limited to an Avatar level of quality. Take that James Cameron.

Have we even reached Toy Story graphics??? I still think next xbox console will be more powerful than most people think. I don't think MS is dumb enough to completely ignore what got them here.

If those specs are true, don't be suprised if we see repeated disasters like the Great Chicago Fire due to Xbox 720s bursting into flames. It's gonna make RROD look trivial in comparison

True, but I think it is mostly cows hoping MS is going to fully jump into the casual market. I think they will try to appeal to both audiences considering third party devs are not completely on board with Kinect.

My 360 and PS3 can do avatar graphics i just insert my avatar movie and is done,hell even my phone can do it.:lol:

No we haven't. Toy Story uses true curves (aka NURBS) while no modern game uses them. Instead they now try to increase poly-counts on finer details with hardware tesselation.

The weakest console won the gen, MS and Sony may have noticed this lol.

Its all about family titles and kinect now, next gen consoles will not be much more powerful then current and the release lineups will all include fitness/dance titles.
