Even though VGchartz isn't unreliable it doesn't matter becuase more of the great ps3 exclusives are coming, where as the XBOX 360 is going to start falling so quick about time 08 comes around when the Halo hype is gone and we're hearing about Killzone, MGS4, Littlebigplanet, Final Fatnasy XIII, etc. in America.

50,000 isnt that great to begin with. Even the new PSP Slim design sold well over 50,000 up into the 100,000s.

Then again Japan seems to be in perpetual motion taking with them a handheld at all times.

First, those numbers were only from January 2007 to the start of September 2007.

Second, the 360 outsold the PS3 by over 400,000 in the US alone for September, most likely did as well in October (awaiting NPD numbers)and are on course to do so again according to these numbers in November.

So what does this mean? That PS3's 840,000 unit lead has already been eliminated by 360 sales in less then three monthsand the 360 is actually ahead of the PS3 in sales for the year at this point by a few hundred thousand units.

Hmm these numbers do a pretty good comparision against NPD numbers, And NPD numbers are somewhat aggregated to. So either way its about even.

All VG charts needs is a good sample. so with a few small retailors the can simply estimate what numbers were sold.

It's called sampling. if you have a 100m * 100m yard and you want to know how many weeds grow on your land. All you could do is to count the weeds in about a 1m * 1m area. get about 5 - 10 samples covering different areas of the land.

Now that you have your samples with data you just compute

10 samples which is about 10 metre sq land we counted 555 weeds total

so in about our 10 000 metres sq land there should be 555 000 weeds.

Not precise? Nope

But the idea is that you now have an idea of how much weeds you have.

Or you could just go and count all weeds on that lands lol
