American Sales Charts( May 6th)/ April monthly sales too!!!

Well its that time again and my predictions werent that close ( even though I might have the NPD results to prove me right)

By anyway, here's this week's sales :

System Numbers Change from Last week

DS 154,087 (down under 10%)

Wii 87,651 (Down 10%)

360 64,064 (Up 20%)

PSP 43,804 (Down 9%)

PS3 30,091 (Up 20%)

That means for the month of April ( based on Vgchartz and not the NPD)( its a round estimate i'm not bothering with puttin an actual number):

1.DS ( 565000....little over my max 550,000 prediction)

2. Wii (324000, under my min 350,000)

3. PSP( hit just my predict...205,000)

4. PS2 proably

5. 360 ( 196000, little lower than expected)

6. proably still the gba

7. ps3(108,000, little higher than expected

All i can say is discuss...and some people ( mainly cows and lemmings) better pray those sales are abit higher when the NPD comes out in a week or so. Oh and if this is correct, combine with the april japanese sales( 12673- 360 v.51926- ps3) the 360 is ahead of the ps3 by 50,000.Just thought ya like to know.....im not even posting wii sales but I'm pretty sure they're close to 800,000 in japan and US alone.

Oh and on the software front, Spiderman 3 didnt do more than 340,000 in the combined platform sales(though the 360 verison made the most, the ps3 version had more tie in ratio than any other system) and the best verison ( if u call a 6.6 best) ended at number 2 to obviously Pokemon. Pokemon has been the wicked witch of the west for last 3 weeks, now reach ing the 1.5 mil mark.GH2 is chugging along nicely while the crap version of FEAR went from 4th to 23rd this week. Can someone ask me while the orginal GOW is beating GEOW this week? or why saints row, fnr3, and halo 2 ( yess halo 2) are in the top 50 list still?

Btw: in the top 50:

DS: 15

Wii: 12 ( funny how ninty conrtols over half of the chart)

360: 10

Ps3:7

ps2: 4

GC: 1

XB: 1

The burden of proof is on VG Chartz which is admittedly based on speculative data and estimates. Estimates that are millions off based on NPD which actually has some credibility of tracking consumer sales. I don't have to prove a damn thing, sorry, ownage denied.

And VG chartz use the NPD numbers for the US. If their estimate is off, and from april and forward they will be pretty simular, they adjust to get it right. Millions off.....You are millions of miles off target with that remarke..

The only console i own right now is a 360 and i still find VGchartz numbers to be correct. Why ? Because i see the difference between sold to retail and sold to the consumer.

Idon't give a #¤"% about who wins or loses, just find sales number to be interesting because they dictate the future of gaming. And i for one think it's cool to have Nintendo back where they belong. IN front staying innovative.....

Fierse competition is what makes all buisnesses evolve games included. Now it's tougher than ever and i like it. Think about what that competition will produce in the future..

Their numbers are based upon sales from stores around the US. Then they estimate for the entire region. They have gotten numbers from more and more stores hence their numbers are getting more and more accurate.

Still if they are to much off, when official numbers are avaliable they correct any errors. So the numbers provided by VGchartz are the best out there for worldwide sales to the customer. (not sales to retail)

Also I have proof that vgchart is wrong. Nintendo release there sale figure for wii as of march 31 is 5.8 mil. while at that time  vg chart had wii sale well over 6 mil.If the ds sold over 500,000 last month, I'll admit that you're right

Only problem with that "proof" is that it doesn't hold water. Those 5,8 mill were sold in Nintendos business period ending in march. VGchartz numbers had already been updated with more sales from the next coupple of weeks after that business period had ended. Hence the gap between Nintendos numbers and VGchartz.

Noone with any credibility would follow vcharts. They do not even supply real facts at all!

Wait until the monthly NPD and nothing else!

(as a side note, retail sales are down nationwide in NA so expect gaming sales to also be down for the month, esp for anything that cost over $300.
