So this was a good read. http://kotaku.com/5837957/faux-futurists-want-to-keep-pc-gaming-in-the-past Compares the casual pc gamer to the hardcore...which is very minute. Also talks about how pc tinkering is fading as standardization increases...and he then gets attacked from the very same Master Race he is part of. Is it required to to be this sensitive to belong to this race, or can anyone join? The Dominatoon Continues.ispeakfact
Yes because the same people are not in the console crowd, right? Kinect outcry anyone? plummeting sales? Wii hate?
Must be nice to pretend to be so holy, pointing out other "groups" shortcommings, when ignoring that you have the very same yourself *claps*
Lets face it, we have douches in every "gamer" camp, and we all have our differing oppinions since we are different people, there is no such thing as one combined group of people, everyones tastes and wants out of what the industry is, are differnt.
Why is PC gaming split into Hardcore PC, People who buy 2 GPUs, Browser, and Casual PC, whereas consoles get lumped into 1 big category. Is there no such thing as a casual console player, or people that bought them as a BluRay/Netflix/Amazon movie player to put in the living room?

Nope. It's an opinion piece, meaning it's markedly one-sided.

How does this constitute domination continuation? I don't understand.
It also lumps all of the consoles into one block. Each console block will also contain its own division between hardcore and casuals, so I'm fairly sure the PC hardcore sector is still bigger than the PS3 hardcore sectore or whatever console you have pledged your allegiance to.
I don't understand the negative reaction. It's just a bunch of readers saying how easy they found to build the computer. I find one comment that probably could have been a bit less insulting but other than that, certainly better posters around here.
If you want an example of a bad PC community just look at League of Legends.

Lumping all consoles together is a non-issue here. The piece is about a specific type of pc gamer and it's importance and that's why there's a distinction made between pc gamers. Separating console gamers serves no purpose here.[QUOTE="ispeakfact"]So this was a good read. http://kotaku.com/5837957/faux-futurists-want-to-keep-pc-gaming-in-the-past Compares the casual pc gamer to the hardcore...which is very minute. Are you new System Wars? Being logical is a crime here...come on bro :x Seriously speaking, I have to agree with you. Also the article is INCREDIBLY amateur-ish -- it provides literally NO sources for it's graphs. :?The article has no basis in reality. The market for hardcore PC gamers is actually increasing. Nvidia sells more cards than ever before and the numbers of people who are tinkers (ie..willing to spend over 1000$ on each upgrade) is growing
PC Gaming Hardware Market to Hit $23.6 Billion in 2012
http://jonpeddie.com/press-releases/details/pc-gaming-hardware-market-to-hit-23.6-billion-in-2012/
and it will continue to grow fast, from the same article
The recession is winding down and the Enthusiast and Performance class PC gamers (those who spend over $1000 on equipment) have spoken...with their wallets. With chips from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia, new machines from Alienware, HP, Lenovo and others, components and accessories from companies like ASUS, EVGA, Corsair, Logitech, and MadCatz, and new games in the pipe like Far Cry 3, BioShock Infinite, Crysis 3, ARMA 3, rFactor 2, and Interstellar Marines, the financial engine of the world's most elite gaming platform is fully fueled and will drive the global market to $32 billion by 2015.
So, while hardcore pcgaming market will propably remain the niche part of the whole industry, it's obvious it's not going anywhere.

I think it's safe to say:

For a guy called "ispeakfact" you have very little of that actually going on. Linking to an obvious one sided opinion piece article from Kotaku of all bloody places.
