Making games on Wii costs alot less than the other 2 consoles so of course you will see alot of games being released on it Wii games makes more profits than the other 2 consoles cuz of the large install base and as what i said earlier the low cost of making games on it developing games on Wii is like developing games on PS2 and Xbox which means its like developing games on 9 years old consoles so it will be very cheap.

Yes.

Fun is not an emotion.
Do you play and online competitive game with the mentality that you are going to have fun or that you're going to own?
I have fun owning.
Do you replay ng2 after dying countless times on higher level thinking that it's just for fun or for the challange?
The challenge makes it fun.

Yes, a good game has to be fun.
In red. Another example, I lost to Piston Hondo nearly 20 times in Title Defense mode in Punch-Out!!, I still had fun all those 20 times. Who woulda thunk it? ;)

enjoyment does not and I mean does not have to equal "fun" we play for a large spectrum of emotions including fun but that's not all we look for in games.Good for Wii owners I guess but I sold mine and still see no reason to get another one. These games could get AAA or AAAA and I still wouldn't be interested because review scores don't necessarily tell me whether I'll like a game or not and these games don't look interesting to me at all. I got bored with the Wii and so did my son and the types of games coming out for it aren't changing that. Maybe further down the road but....

your having fun with a game doesn't equal the person next to you gaving fun with the game. When you say a gamehas to fun to be a game then you're really generalizinga lot, it's similar to the hardcore vs casual debate, people want to deal in absolutes

Fun = good game
Not fun = bad games
I'll occasionally judge games objectively, but that's boring as ****.
For the argument about "fun", the definition of fun is something that proves amusement, playfullness and enjoyment. Ive definitely played some video games that arent fun, yet are still epic experiences.
The comparison with movies stands - you can have not-fun movies and fun movies, and they can both be equally awesome. This isnt about video games being some higher art, its about video games having the widest amount of potential for creativity and experience.
Therefore, IMHO, the fun argument sucks. Dont use it. It sounds retarded.
As for those who say "those games dont interest me at all", cool story. Seriously.
And as for the topic, I downloaded the game but havent played it yet :) Will do after I finish Mario Galaxy again. Good score!

Ummm...I was bored with it so how would it be my loss I'm perfectly happy with what I've got. As far as I'm concerned I'm missing nothing.
Euphemism for enjoyment... I dont enjoy rollercoasters, yet I go on them because I love the experience of it. I dont enjoy having the crap scared out of me either, but I loved Dead Space. I dont enjoy doing boring tedious tasks to raise money, but I loved the satirical experience that was No More Heroes. If you look at games = fun and everything else is crap, you really narrow down the potential to how a game can make you feel, and what you can take away from it. Games are mostly fun at the moment. I hope that this diversifies beyond survival horrar and Suda's games.[QUOTE="eveileb-ekam"]

Yeah, the Sony and MS fanboys always love to bring out the "lower standards" argument when it suits them, but start whining and sniveling when the hermits bring out the exact argument against them. I love the hypocrisy of System Wars sometimes!

As long as this medium is called "video games", you can't forget the fun argument. They're GAMES, they're meant to be FUN.
The medium has already expanded beyond games - look at Wii Fit and the 100 books on DS. Just because the medium is called video games doesnt mean it cant expand beyond that - as has already been done, in some cases. Youve got to admit, the potential for the medium itself is limitless. And not-fun experiences can be a part of that.ExctieTruck and ExciteBots are more fun than Motorstorm. That's right.
