Emmys* to TV productions.

AIAS* to video games.

Last year, CoD 4 took it, killing games like BioShock and SMG.

I stand corrected, then; Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare got the biggest Game of the Year award any video game can receive, no matter when it's released or what kind of game it is.

Super Mario Galaxy got the GameSpot Game of the Year.

Like it or not, those are the facts.

Game of the Year awards don't mean much, and biased ones are worth even less than that.

As for calling it the biggest, and thus the 'most important' - film buffs don't take the Oscars as gospel (especially when it only has one award for foreign language films), and gamers don't care about the AIAS.
