i love both ms and sony but i am really glad epic put ms in there place ms gets the idea they can just push the devs around. they make them charge for gears content when they want to give it for free then they wont let people make custom maps on the 360 im glad epic put its foot down and made unreal 3 exclusive even if it is only for the holiday season.Blackfriend8

Well now that the PS3 has dropped in price, all those ppl still part of last gen(since the ps2 has started to slow down since GOW 2) alot of ppl will make the move for 500, which is why Sony kept the support so strong for the ps2 in the first place, so by the time htat starts to dye down, the PS3 will be a reasonable price. And by downfall I mean third place and by no means do I mean totally failing. THey will totally close down on the market share and do way more successful than the original, but will end up in last.

M$ has yet to release the final 2 of the "big 3" being Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Gears of War.They have all the big third-party titles like GTA IV, COD4, AC, and Half-Life 2: Orange Box, so as soon as Sony made that price drop and finally showed off KZ2 here comes all the big 360 hits.jimmygrace

Oh of course, this year Microsoft will bloom and i think hit 15+ million consoles just because of Halo 3. And I am sure they will be strong in 08 and recently IMO better tahn Sony as GeOW 2 will probably release, Banjo Threeie, Fable 2, and many other surprises thhis upcoming X07 as the did last X confrence.

Wrong. Every year E3 rolls around and cows get excited. Last year was a huge embarassment for them, but they were still there acting like Sony dominated.

E3 is used by Sony to get maximum hype. As the games start rolling out everyone will see that 360 is still the best looking console and will have the best mulitplats.

Think about it...UT3 will be better on 360 unless the devs purposely try to make it worse (anger with M$). It will have more time, plus they don't want to go head-to-head vs. Halo. If a game doesn't takeoff right away on live then it will flop in sales. So the only smart thing to do is to go timed exclusive until halo3 has died down a bit.

Wow ppl, I am way more of a lemming than a cow, but I feel, as a consumer, 100+ million PS2 owners cannot go unnoticed and ever since Sony's stron E3 performance, those people are starting to convert, especially after the(temporary) price drop. 360 got the games for 06, 07 and probably 08. Halo 3 will be killer, but at a sales standpoint, they will come in third place, never will they fail, they will do much better in sales than the original xbox actually

Looks like you said (in your previous post) that you believe Sony will have to counter a 360 price drop. So I think you're saying the only reason ps3 is in the toilet is because of price. How do you know Sony won't just bundle a new game with it or come out with a 100GB model and keep the price the same dropping the 80gb version to $500? I don't think sony wants to leave the $600 price point as they want to get consumers used to paying that for a console. They may just keep on "improving" the deal but may not really drop price for a while.

What would they be countering? X360 can already be perchased $300 less than a PS3..it would really be a bigger hurt to themselves than to the competition.

The reason why PS2 had 100 million users to begin with is because it had games for everyone. Right now, or even over the next year I don't see that happening because the 360's library will be double what it is now and thats a helluva lot more games than the PS3 has got down so far. The only group I see purchasing a PS3 are the few hardcores that are waiting for those key Sony exclusives, you can forget about the casuals taking the leap the PS3 because 360 has got more, higher quality titles so far and will have in the not-so-distant future. Couple that with a cheaper and hopefully soon to be even cheaper price tag..its casual heaven in the 360 side..or more-so than the PS3.

I guess the cows came out of hiding after Sony's confrence that wowed so many. Killzone is now supposedly better than gears and halo, and Killzone 2 will be the new FPS console king(which I highly doubt, Halo baby!). Regardless, UT 3 has also given a boast to the cows and now all of a sudden multiplats are better on PS3. I originally predicted the PS3 to come in 1st, but after the Wii's success, it is inevitable that it comes in first place. Enter the 360, has great titles for 07 and 08, won 06, but now with the return of those 100 million plus cows and the PS3 price drop(Kinda), the PS3 slowly regains it's dominance. washere12

Errr who supposed that? I just watched the new gameplay trailer at IGN and this game looks entirely generic, that said it may well be the first level of the game ~who knows?~ and may be simple for this reason. The animations did look and impressive and so did the lighting - if not realistic -, BUT the textures looked like that of Half Life 2 Standard. They really did look appalling. Also the hardedged polygon lines on some of the environment pieces looked poor. One other thing that was disappointing - although may change - is by the looks of it, the machine gun did not have any realistic recoil. Granted you could raise the argument that it is in the future so maybe the developed ways to combat it, but this doesn't change the fact I want challenging and decent gameplay. I don't want to sound like a neg-head but the AI looked moronic ( this also may change).

So basically who ever thought that so early is an idiot.
