...Diablo 3.
I really wanted to give this game a fair chance with a totally open minded and I wanted to love it. However, as lots of people on battlenet over the years rightly summarized: it has a feel of a tedious F2P MMO only dressed in an AAA game coating. Never before have I felt so tired and literally fallen asleep playing a game before.
This game makes your brain switch off completely.
For me the biggest problem is the automatization of fundamental game mechanics and also the fact that the game features vast open spaces that are literally wasted on waves on encountering dentical enemies over and over again. Game like Diablo requires thousands of small confined spaces with extremely varied environments to be interesting. It is completely unengaging. Beautiful cutscenes (albeit heavily compressed) are wasted within-the-game on telling a story that makes Call of Duty look like a Orson Welles movie in comparison!
Despite the fact that each experience level gives you different rune modfication to existing abilities or gives you new passive buffs and it makes you rotate them AT LEAST UP TILL A CERTAIN POINT, I'd have still preferred skill trees.
I'm afraid I won't even complete the game. I'm fed up with giving it another chances yet ending up falling asleep and wasting my precious free time instead of playing something that is, actually, ENJOYABLE.
I think Diablo is officially dead. Blizzard is dead to me. No amount of updates could've fixed Diablo III.
I loved Diablo 1, beat it around 50 times, I beat Diablo 2 only twice but I still liked it, but a lot less, but Diablo III is a nail in the coffin.
I think it mirrors a lot of awful current trends in gaming.

Can you think of a more uninspired and uninvolving game this gen? Technically it's from last-gen but it was re-released this gen, so...
