And the PSP scores three more outstanding games, only to be ignored...

God of War: Chains of Olympus & Papaton are the latest AAA titles (9.4 & 9.2 respectively) on the system. According to IGN, watered down and this game should NEVER be mentioned in the same sentence for God of War; in fact, in some areas it outperforms the console versions, and in all it is at least equal. the only place where it "falters" is the length, and even that isn't much of an issue as the console versions weren't that long either. As for Papaton, it's a bresh of fresh air creativity wise. The excellent concept could easily have been executed poorly, but Pyramid (the developers) had that in spades.

The PSP also scored the long-awaited Wipeout Pulse, the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Wipeout Pure. The series now has online play, customizable skins, even more d/l content, vastly overhauled art design/graphics... it's definitely not Wipeout Pure 1.5.

golf clap

I don't play handhelds and none of these games are worth digging through the house to find wherever I left the PSP two years ago.

There's also Crisis Core in March. PSP has some big titles right now. All reserved. :D

The PSP has a suprisingly robust lineup. I think people were so underwhelmed by its poor launch that they've stopped caring, but the PSP has rounded out into a very nice system.

It didn't even have a poor launch... certainly not worse than the DS's...

Lumines

Twisted Metal: Head On

Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee

Tony Hawks Underground 2 Remix

Wipeout Pure

Ridge Racer

Were all outstanding games. Sure, there was a little drought after that (about 3 months) but then the system picked up again...

The psp is quietly on fire with God of War, Patapon, and Wipeout all scoring high. Crisis Core is also on the way at the end of march so I definitely think that the psp is again having another great underappreciated year. The sad part about the psp and it's many great games is that they don't sell bc of piracy. I know it's easy to illegally dl psp games but it really hurts the system bc with piracy the games don't get the hype and psp doesn't get the attention, and those developers that put effort into making a game designed specifically for the psp get nothing for their effort and therefore may not even bother with new psp projects. for those of you that pirate psp games, shame on you. I blame you for the psp's "irrelevance".

I'm not saying the PSP didn't have any good games available at launch, but Sony didn't have the killer app they really needed. The DS's advantage was Nintendo's franchise factory; you knew from day one you'd see a Zelda DS, Mario DS, Metroid DS etc. But with the PSP you never really knew what to expect in the future, which made it a tough sell without a God of War or Patapon available at launch.

All awesome games.

Wipeout Pulse is amazing - perfect for the handheld

Patapon is amazing - perfect for the handheld

God of War 2 - should score well, but of course, not sure.

Neither of those games appeal to me, I'm gonna stick with Tactics and play some of those upcoming DS Jrpgs, ohh, goodness:

DQIX

The World Ends With You

Tales of

FFIV

Ninja Gaiden

Oh, sex, lol, good times. Sorry to hijack. Yes, good PSP games go by unbought. I blame the PSP userbase including myself. Maybe I'll use Skype.

!!!!

I want Core Crysis!!!!

Screw GoW, lol, but that's just imo. I call it God of Puzzle and hate it, but it might just be my dislike of the clunky jumping and overabundance of puzzles that break up the gameplay, and artificially lengthen the game. I feel the game sells on the violence and attitude of Kratos, and if he wasn't in the game, and replaced by, say, Banjo Kazooie, it would be considered a mediocre puzzler with clunky combat elements.
