http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/08/tech-emmy-winners-include-wii-and-ds/

The tech Emmys were announced this morning, and among the long list of takers is Nintendo's seemingly unstoppable, often unfindable Wii, and the humble DS. The Game Controller Innovation award was given to both consoles, while the Handheld Game Device Display Screen Innovation was shared between the DS and... the Atari Lynx?! Ok, sure, the Lynx is almost twenty years old, but that shouldn't take away from Nintendo's moment of glory (again). Not heard from this year: Sony. Guess they learned their lesson about the tech Emmys back in 2007.

Congrats to Nintendo! But really this makes me think of a funnier Emmy story...

No Emmy for Sixaxis!

Oh Sony...you bring us so many great memories...

Sony had won an Emmy for Technology and Engineering, it wasn't for the SIXAXIS. Instead, Christine Chin from NATAS confirmed that Sony's Dual Shock Won the Emmy

Haha, yeah that was funny. I don't have anything against Sony and I have a PSP and will be getting a PS3 soon but man the last 2 years has been filled with so many countless and memorable PR blunders.

Also, I think the DS demo Channel is up in Japan. Download game demos to DS's ram.

I have no idea why... and if true, it kinda does kill the credibility of the award. Nothing about the Dual shock is new or inventive, and extended use of this design that Sony refuses to change has created the "Playstation Thumb" syndrome. (not sure if that's the exact name, but it certainly is an accepted medical condition)

1. Pokemon Battle Revolution uses the DS as a controller.

2. You can download game demos from the Wii into the DS.

3. Some Wii games have a special DS version of the game inside that can be downloaded to the DS (like Geometry Wars Galaxies).

You have been owned in some way, shape, or form.

The Atari Lynx has a very advanced 3D effect screen that created deph. It was a 3D screen instead of a 2D one.

those are kind of lame, and #2 isnt in america yet. i want things lika playing snes and nes games on my ds from the VC. like you can do with the psp and ps1 classic games. or be able to connect to my wii from anyplace with my ds to play VC games. i think as far as connecting the two together, sony is winning that part. but hey nintendo might do something better, hopefully, since i dont play my ds or wii much anymore. just asking, are there any plans for a SSB DS, that would be sweet
