Angry Joe reviews The Order: 1886

It's bad timing. The Order would have gotten less flack if released among other better titles. On the plus side their game gets a lot of attention because there's no other big titles released at this time. The bad side to this is that it creates unrealistic expectations as well. Ryse and Knack got some serious hate but much less because launch titles are almost always expected to suck nowadays. Joe has it right, The Order is launch day level quality released far too late into the PS4's life cycle. This is when the PS4 needed a "gears of war" or "uncharted" type hit. Not a launch title dud.

So I just watched the video...and it seems he's more disappointed than anything. Not really angry and stupidity or whatever.

That's understandable....I was somewhat disappointed as well. But I didn't go in thinking the game was going to save Jesus or something.

Either way....it seems they took most of the time for the engine and developing the quality....so theres nothing saying now that they have that created and the lore set they can't come back with a second installment and rock the place with an all around great game.

I actually said to myself that the boss battles are just like the knife fight in RE4, just not nearly as well done or as engaging. Kinda like all the lycan fights in The Order, they're just kinda there because(!)

Not sure if Sony will green light a sequel after all this bad press. This is up there with LAIR, knack, ryse, haze, and too human.

And thats exactly why it scored low ,we are GAMErs, we play games not experiences, if i want to Experience something i go and do it for real.

This is why Nintendo Exclusives are Scoring Higher than xbone or Ps4 exclusives, they are churning out games that are fun to play.

they are Games and they should be reviewed and Rated for what they are which is GAMES

I don't care much about AJ, but he is obviously doing something right. He manages to break down a game to a point where you can criticize it without looking like an utter bastard, and hey, he earns his moolah with it. Whether I agree with it or not, is irrelevant. I'd say he's doing, whatever he does, right.

First of all, "experience" can mean anything. But based on the context that you guys are using it, why is that a problem? Are you guys gonna tell me that I can't like games like Uncharted or something? Because I have played plenty of games of all genres to know what I like and what I don't.

In fact, I have played so many Mario, Zelda and Metroid games I swear I could make one and people wouldn't even notice it wasn't made by Nintendo... And you know what? I just don't enjoy their games anymore because to me they are boring, predictable, bland. So whatever reviewers think about them I couldn't care less.

...and the funny thing is people buying collectors edition for this game, how much does it cost...$150? lol

That went worse than I thought, I didn't see it, too much spoilers in his reviews, and I plan on getting the game at some point to see for myself.

Shame, because the game has some amazing lamps.

The QTE is laughable and dat final boss.

If I had a PS4, I'd just wait to pick it up cheap... If you get it for the right price, it'd probably be worth a play-through.

I beat the game in like 7 hours at my friends place. Would not play again. After I beat it, my friend said he wish he bought Dying Light or GTA 5. ( I agree) just because it has no replay value and the movie of it all. I agree with most of the things he said but its not a 4. Maybe a 6 or so...The only hard thing for me was the QTEs, which I fucking hate. I feel insulted by them tbh.

I thought it was a solid game. I had a lot of fun with it. It needs to be longer, but I really liked it. It is selling pretty well, so I'm hopping they do a sequel and change things up.

Given his criticisms, 4/10 seems high.

I find it funny how all the anti-PC people loved The Order. Non gamers usually hate PC.

Meh, PC was fun while I was a hermit. Finally realized nothing worth playing for me that wasn't on consoles.

This is the first time I've watched an Angry Joe review in full. (He's actually getting less annoying and more funny so that's good.)

I was expecting a 2/10 though. It was basically "hey the graphics are the best I've seen on consoles, everything else is complete dogshit."

4/10 is very generous for production values alone.

I find it funny you're connecting things that really aren't that important or actually valid.

I have a Steam account with 170+ games and I'm currently enjoying the living hell out of Farcry 4 on PC and don't mind having $11 left over for a sale for some random indy game that I might want.

Yet....I still enjoyed The Order.

I think we are approaching to the era where game reviewers will finally start to use the whole scale of 10 instead of only the last 3 numbers. Hearing someone from IGN say that a 6 is OKAY? Instant mind blown.

Yeah I'm surprised he gave it a 4. I don't think I'd even rate it if I played it, so what if it has graphics when the rest of the game is a giant pile of crap.

But this gen he did a 180. He's a bit more into Playstation than he is with Xbox. Ever since he got frustrated with M$ last gen for sucking durring the 360s last couple years he's really been into PC gaming more than anything. He's really into those PC RPG's and MMOs and RTS.

Joe now is really 70% PC, 25% PS4, 5% XBOX.

Much like every reviewer, they have people who agree and like their reviews and those who do not. Personally I overwhelmingly agree with what he puts out there.

His Order review, for instance, was quite spot on and very akin to what I experienced playing through the game.

Dang... Feels like a salt mine in here... Either way, everything Joe said about the order, I called it, it was coming a mile away when the devs wasted so much time in interviews promoting the order as a stupid cinematic experience and how often they forgot they were making a game...

Gotta love the "it's an experience" excuse, you are paying $60 for an "experience" and even defend it even though other "experience" games that cost less than $20 got heat (gone home, dear esther)

But oh well... Can't say I blame these people, it's not like they have a choice, this is excactly the kind of game console gamers want, not some stupid indie game or something that looks "last gen", they want pure photo realistic graphics to stare at, forget the damn gameplay...

You'll have to forgive me, but I buy games to play them, not stare at them, all the eye candy in the world is worthless if you don't have the gameplay to go with it

He didn't even review FFXIV, how he is into MMOs? Gushing over Guild Wars 2 doesn't count, he admitted that GW2 was his first MMO and that game is geared towards people who have never touched an MMO.
