Another AA for the DS! Yay!

The Good: Touch screen makes it easy to draw letters and fix mistakes; you can save a puzzle in progress; keeps statistics for the puzzles you've completed; more than 1,000 genuine new york times crosswords.

The Bad: People who aren't diehard word buffs will have trouble solving puzzles; there's no way to download additional puzzles.

I love crosswords ^^

If they could download additional puzzles, this game might've got a much higher score. Looks like people with not so much vocab. will have to My Word Coach to get better at this ^^

You'd be surprised on how much crap there is on the DS. But it's a handheld, and these games are designed for when you have nothing to do, or are on a trip. This game is perfect for that.

And look! It has online multiplayer!

Well you really can't compare this. Even though it's the same console the games are in different genres.

The only real comparing you can do on Gamespot is within the same console and the same genre for 1:1 scoring accuracy, and even then you run into problems because one game may have released earlier than the other. Comparing scores on GS (or really any website) is pretty much impossible anda waste of time.

In terms of what the crossword puzzle game offers. Just because you don't like crossword puzzles doesn't mean other people don't. If someone is however interested in picking up a crossword puzzle game then this one is done very well and they should consider it.

Oh , so your beef is with the individual scores of each game as opposed to comparing it to Crossowrd DS (or whatever it's caleld). Well can't help ya there, tis what it tis ;)

There are no other crossword puzzle games on the DS to compare the game to. There are already great adventure and RPG games on the DS so the bar is set for those genres.

Either way, you shouldn't let a meaningless score prevent you from buying the game. Read the actual review and weigh in the pros and cons of the game, if the cons really bother you then don't buy the game. The scores are just there to peak your interest.

you shouldn't hate a genre of games just because you dont like it. If I hated JRPGs, I wouldn't diss gs for a positive review of one. I could say "oh god, that protagonist is gay or "turn based games are boring next to FPS action" but those are statements based on ignorance. If this DS game offers the ultimate crossword experience then it deserves a good score. I wouldn't buy it, but if I got into crosswords I would definitely pick it up. "buy the paper", wow, that is ignorant
