Another Deus Ex project going to announced this year E3

Please be Original Deus Ex Remake, Please be Deus Ex remake. please!!

Sweet. If it is a remake of the first I will definitely be grabbing it.

well while I am unsure if they will make a remake, I think we might well a game with a different character at the same time where Deus Ex 1 took place.

The reason that I don't think they will do a remake of Deus Ex 1 is that it is an absolute minefield to run out to, while it might seem like an easy job, DE fans would be livid if every single detail is not pitch perfect, while updating the entire ting to a new engine, and sound assets.

So I don't think they will do it, even though I would love it to happen ^^

Edit: A remake of DE:IW would be a safer bet, since it is not exactly the high mark of the series :P

As long as they don't port the neo-DX "melee system" and instead keep it like the original....I'd be all for it.

@Maddie_Larkin: imho the first DE is the very best game ever made. but its not perfect. the guys behind human revolution did a good job though (i really must get back into that...i keep getting distracted every time i sit down to play it :P).

so i wouldnt mind them doing a reboot. there was still room for improvement like:

1) well the visuals of course. DE was ugly at release and age has just made it worse. new engine, rebuild all the levels (keep the same general layout but just visually improved accross the board), properly render and simulate JCs trench coat (this is the most important :P).

2) the last 25% of the game, roughly, felt a bit rushed and this could certainly be improved.

3) bug fixes in the logic in places (the classic cant move a body until it has no items to loot bug comes to mind).

4) ...er....yeah im struggeling here....er more enemy variety? the hit and run tactics became a bit too effective (ahh those tranq darts and sniper rifle. good times :) ).

but yeah i certainly wouldnt mind a remake as long as they dont go fundimentally messing with it. if i hear anyone mumble "oh it was a crap shooter...aiming reticule was all over the place" then there will be harsh language.

There's no chance for a Deus Ex remake. That game is a PC game. Designed for M/KB. You can't play it on consoles. They'd have to remake so much it would be a full blown game made from almost scratch. The original game does have a gimped ps2 version, which had almost all gameplay elements neutered or removed entirely and levels were changed because they didn't fit the consoles memory.

Deus Ex doesn't need a remake, it continues to exist as the best game in the medium's history, as it has since it came out. What you do need is the GMDX v.8 mod for it, which corrects the small imperfections of the original and makes it without fault. A shining beacon of gamedesign and emergent gameplay, unparalaleled by any other game.

the fall remastered?

It's probably going to be some minor additions to the Deus Ex "universe" like mobile or board games... With Mankind Divided around the corner, there's no way they'd announce a brand new AAA release. I haven't played the original Deus Ex - only Human Revolution - so I'd like a remake of that.
