Everyone says the PS3 is way overpriced but do you think thats true in the long run? The 360 you have to buy alot of stuff for it to make it fully capable not mentioning its reliability.

the 'falcon' is supposed to be the 360 that is RRoD proof (which is what all the new 360's are, not sure if its true though)

st1ka is saying that his 360 has not RRoD'd yet, and its an older model

Well the 360 doesn't have a 100% fail rate, so it makes sense that some 360's will obviously be fine. This does not deny the fact that the 360 has an unacceptable failure rate, however. Your point is irrelevant, and proves nothing towards the reliability of the 360.

there are $245 worth of over priced Microsoft extras needed to have a good online experience with Xbox. first $99.99 for a wireless internet adapter (included w/PS3), 2nd $59.99 for a Xbox cheap looking wireless headset (Can use any blue tooth headset w/PS3 which most people already own), 3rd $50 for an xbox gold membership (free PS3), 4th $35 for a rechargeable battery set to use w/ controllers (PS3 recharge via USB). Plus you guys have been making a big deal about netflix on Xbox. If you want to stream any media including Netflix, youtube, etc. through the PS3 all you need to do is partition the hard drive and install your favorite Linux OS or yellowdog 5 for ps3 which is as easy to install as any program for windows. granted it is more labor intensive to use Linux, but you have much more freedom to do what you want, not just watch netflix

Ok, let me address each of these for ya ...

1.) $99.99 Wireless Adapter: Pretty sure a ethernet cord came in my box with my console, so no I don't need a wireless adapter. You can keep your laggy wireless connection, I'll keep my wired one.

2.) Again, headset came with my console, free of charge even... So why would I have to buy an extra headset?

3.) $50 for a xbox live gold membership.. Ok, I'll give you that one.. After the one month free that MS gives you with the console, we do have to pay for Live, but its actually $49.99 for 13 months, which makes it around $3.86 a month. I can go without a Big Mac or a Whopper meal once a month, help me keep my slim figure.

4.)$35 for a rechargeable batter? The plug and play kit is $19.99 which includes the battery and charge cable. That battery goes out? I go buy another batter, your ps3 controller battery goes out.. Enjoy the $55 for the new controller m8.

5.) Netflix on my 360.. Well, seeing as how I am a netflix subscriber anyways, I don't see how paying nothing extra to stream it on my 360 is really that big a deal. I'm pretty sure if you wanna stream it to your Ps3, you as well have to be a netflix subscriber. Don't think netflix is gonna give away their services free. And all I gotta do to get netflix on my 360 is download a very quick download and wait.. I don't have to partition, install ANYTHING other OS on my console. Amazing how simple that is.

And if you count out the Netflix, everything I described is not required to be bought to be used. 360 comes with ethernet cable, headset, 1month free live, batteries for your controller,. Oh I forgot, I can stream videos, and music from my PC to my 360 free of charge as well. So what am I REQUIRED to buy to make my 360 fully capable?

I know. Look how much it costs me to play my 360:

Vehicle cost used to transport newly purchased 360 equpiment (Gas Not Included): $11,500

Cost of house used to play 360 in or cost of entire building if in an apartment: $4.5M

Re-occuring cost of monthly electric bill: $70 per month

Loss of wages due to calling off because 360 gets RRoD: $600 per year

It adds up. Why would MS release such a non fully functional gaming console?

you obviously dont know how to use the search function, Or hell actually go and click page 2, or 3, or 3 to see the 6 threads now about this topic, its all ready been debated and talked to death and came to the conclussion the court case has no backing since from day one launch the manual, website, and support line have all said DO NOT move your console when the disc is in full spin.

I can hold my PS3 upside down and it will not scratch disks....

why would anyone do that

Holding a console in one position usually will not scratch the disc, continuously moving it with a disc in the tray, can. Blu-Ray discs have a scratch resistant coat on them, which makes them slightly harder to scratch than a normal optical medium.

[QUOTE="dotWithShoes"][QUOTE="OfficerLeach"]there are $245 worth of over priced Microsoft extras needed to have a good online experience with Xbox. first $99.99 for a wireless internet adapter (included w/PS3), 2nd $59.99 for a Xbox cheap looking wireless headset (Can use any blue tooth headset w/PS3 which most people already own), 3rd $50 for an xbox gold membership (free PS3), 4th $35 for a rechargeable battery set to use w/ controllers (PS3 recharge via USB). Plus you guys have been making a big deal about netflix on Xbox. If you want to stream any media including Netflix, youtube, etc. through the PS3 all you need to do is partition the hard drive and install your favorite Linux OS or yellowdog 5 for ps3 which is as easy to install as any program for windows. granted it is more labor intensive to use Linux, but you have much more freedom to do what you want, not just watch netflixOfficerLeach

So what am I REQUIRED to buy to make my 360 fully capable?

yeah, what everyone else said.. WHAT? I guess yeah I bought a bundle pack, it was called let me think.. the Xbox 360 Pro. Thats about as bundled as it was, and for less than the price of the PS3(by around $150 at the time I think) I got everything I needed to play any game on the 360.

Tell me when didn't come in the box that I was required to buy to use the console?(other than a TV). Atleast with my $349 Xbox I could do HD out of the box, could you with your fancy $399 blu ray player?

''The characteristic circular scratches can occur whenever the orientation of the console -- which is designed to be used in either a horizontal or vertical position -- is changed while the drive is spinning'' You got to be an idiot to move the console while the disc is inside and especially spinning,i use my 360 orizontal or vertical and haven't scratch any of my games.

i made another statement besides what the xbox needs to be capable and also a link for a malfunction for it and that is part of the thread also not just the part your barely smart enough to comment on so please do us all a favor and destroy your way of accessing this site

oh the mods are gunna have fun with you boy

regardless of your link, your main post consist of this

Everyone says the PS3 is way overpriced but do you think that's true in the long run? The 360 you have to buy alot of stuff for it to make it fully capable not mentioning its reliability.OfficerLeach

the key word in your false statement being 'have'

my post clearly states that i was not required (also known as 'having to') buy 'alot of stuff' to make it fully capable as a console, movie player, music player, or whatever i chose to use it as. im sorry if the concept of my disproving your statement is to vast for you to comprehend, maybe in time you will learn to comprehend such complex mechanisms

I enjoy arguing with brick walls it seems. So you say your PS3 came with a componant cable? Tell me, which one of the many many differant versions of the PS3 did you buy? I'm sorry that you claim you bought a 360 that couldn't do HD, some people buy the Arcade model.. can't blame them for that.

I believe you may be right. But then again, you can't blame people for reading something so much then believing it this day and age. Loyal Sonyites believe anything the Sony Mothership tells them.

but the same can be said of all fanboys, save for the Nintendo fanboys, they seem to actually have some form of free will with their likes and dislikes. that could be an illusion however

First, what kind of cord did you spend 130 bucks on? Second, are you still going to claim to be able to play 360 games on your PS3? You DO realize emulation requires hardware typically 10 times as powerful as the original system right? You DO know the PS3 can't run the games natively right? Stop making stupid claims you CAN'T back up and are impossible.
