These side by side comparisons are terrible on Gamespot. The scrollbar at the bottom kills it.

Maybe the best looking game ever. Well at least the most realistic. It would be crazy if GT5 looks even better than this!!!

try viewing the image at full screen. right click, view image. when you resize an image smaller, it looks bad no matter what it is. also make sure you zoom in on the picture at that time, looks 10 times better.

Yeah that's my problem with this forum. Give us scalable res options!

These forums look absolutely sad with my 1920x1200 res. Anyways, can always open in a new tab/window.

Are you blind? I see no jaggies whatso ever. Maybe you're screen is making the images small to fit the screen. Jaggies usually show up when your computer does that.

I want to this game so bad, too bad Sony has yet to give me any other reason to buy the system. I'll buy a PS3 one day just for this game, even if it's not for antherother 4 years. Maybe GT6 will be out by then :)

really? have you tried riding a wall in any racing game or riding the grass? hell, i remember that stuff slowing you down and making you lose races since the 80's racing games in arcades. running into people aint exactly helpful on winning either. not sure how you drive in racing games, but i always shoot for not running into things.

Yep, GT5 sure is looking good. I will probably get it when I get my PS3. I don't care about it not having damage, it hasn't up to this point and I have always loved the series, why would I all of a sudden stop liking it now because it doesn't have it. Besides, if I want crashes and damage, I will go to the races.

You slam into a wall just once and you can break everything in your car so it won't even move. That is semi-realistic.

Bumping off it and driving off it like bloody burnout 1 or something.

Also reflections are kinda crap too.

Well, in GT4, not having damage modeling does allow you to get away with stuff you can't in Forza.

In many races, I tend to use my opponents as bumpers in tight turns. If I see an opponent just ahead of me, approaching a turn, I'll speed up instead of hitting the brakes. In the apex of the turn, I can just bump against them to stay in bound and adhere to the optimal racing line on the inside of the turn without losing much speed.

This is something I rarely do in Forza due to the fact that I'll probably damage my car and render it incapable of winning the race.

GT4 Review

The Bad

  • Racing opponent AI is as dumb as ever
  • Lack of damage modeling encourages sloppy driving
  • Musical soundtrack is hit or miss
  • B-spec mode: huh?
  • No online.

and what does this have to do with the crappy damage on Forza 2?

Exactly, The Generic do this and this happens this way Damage.

Generic damage modeling >>>> No Damage with sloppy bumper car physics.

really? have you tried riding a wall in any racing game or riding the grass? hell, i remember that stuff slowing you down and making you lose races since the 80's racing games in arcades. running into people aint exactly helpful on winning either. not sure how you drive in racing games, but i always shoot for not running into things.

Now isn't that fake? How can using your opponents car as a cushion in a corner render your car incapable of finishing a race??/

That's alright, I rather race than play demolition durby with $200,000 cars. :)

Sure if you want to play like a 12 year old kid.:|

i dont play that way.:|

To bad most people do online :( It's less a race and more of a destruction game online.

have you ever tried playing with friends online?:?

have you even tried finding the right gamers to play with online?

thats not my fault.:?

Your fault? I never said it was your fault. But the fact is, Forza 2 is much more of a crash and bash game rather than a racing game. The only thing I find really cool about the game, is you get to paint your cars, and make them really detailed. That's great, but the online is crash and bash.
