Yeah i'm still sticking to my guns on it in terms of rough performance.
It does look like it is Nvidia based. I did speculate that they may move away from Nvidia for cost and historic reasons but it looks like that partnership will continue. That definitely does open up some nice possibilities.
But basically it'll be a Portable PS4 with a few extra tricks up it's sleeve is my guess. At best it may have PS4 horsepower on battery then the GPU gets closer to a PS4 Pro due to the speed bump when running docked.
Ray tracing support will be there and i think it will be stronger than the steam decks RT chops (which are not great). But i dont think it going to give the PS5/XSX any trouble even though it's nvidia. The GPU will be just too low powered. I don't think it will be widely used.
DLSS makes a lot of sense. I dont think Frame Gen will be supported though (At least not DLSS Frame Gen). DF seem fairly confident that it will be Ampere based, though I wouldn't be too surprised if it was Turing based.
Faster loading times than PS4/X1 of course due to both using Carts/Flash memory rather than a HDD and the CPU will probably be a bit beefier to (A more modern Quad Core Arm Chip basically). Who knows: Nintendo may also have their own implementation of velocity architecture. Historically they do hate loading times.
The language used in the rumours is very open. I mean saying something looks comparable to something else really doesn't say much. It could be a scaled down version of the matrix demo that still has some of the tricks being used for the PS5/XSX version and it looks "comparable" when seen on the Switch 2s screen. Anyone thinking it will be near a PS5 though are setting themselves up for disappointment.
