Are there any developers where you will buy there newest games no matter what? I say this because I am doing just that with LA Noire as it is published by Rockstar and just every game they've released in the last decade I've enjoyed. I also bought Portal 2 day one knowing it was made by Valve who are a quality developer so i didnt hesitate to get it. What about you guys?

gg, rock star games, any studio that makes call of duty. I will buy most games even if the reviews say it sucks, but I will most of the time end up cursing and stomping alot!

I will pretty much buy any zelda game, because it's my favorite series ever. Other than that, I usually check how good a game does and read alot of negative reviews.

Doesn't matter who the developer is or what score it received. If it looks fun I'm going to get it.

Koei.

edit: Actually, I'll buy a game from anyone regardless of reviews, so long as I find the game interesting.

Usually Rockstar but the only game I didn't buy happened to be GTA IV which also happened to have the best reviews.

But developers aside I will buy any Kingdom Hearts games no matter the score.

Yes, Naughty dog instantly comes to mind. Sucker punch too And also, i really don't pay too much attention to reviews any how Why let a review...SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION...matter so much when YOU yourself personally enjoyed the game? Thats how i felt about Socom 4 and kind of Killzone 3. I enjoyed Killzone 3's jaw dropping graphics, cover system, and shooting mechanics. In my eyes it was a 9.0-9.5....but a lot of reviewers scored it lower... No big deal. Everyone has different opinions and i respect that, but as long as I'm happy with the game that's all there is to it. Having said that i do respect honest gaming web sites and will use their review as a sort of guide line, but i will always try to look at gameplay footage first or play the game first...IGN, destructiod and all those thrashy Euro gaming websites are the gaming sites i least respect hands down.I never take them serious. Anyway, yeah, LA Noire gameplay footage looks very intetesting. Would love to try out a demo. Definently thinking about buying the game

Bungie, maybe? I'm not entirely certain though, I'm going to wait and see what they're next game is. I'd say Valve... But I haven't bought all their games. I'll say that every game they make is most certainly worth owning though.

Fair but how do you know you want that game? Reviews give you a good representation on how the game will be when you actaully buy it so I definitely like to at least read the review before I throw 60 bones on a game. Except for Zelda and Kingdom Hearts of course.

I usually buy games on general info, screenshots and gameplay footage. Very rarely do I totally regret my purchase.

I rarely depend on reviews when I buy games. I found that going by word of mouth is a lot more useful.

Anyway, studios I will always keep an eye out for are GSC Game World, Bohemia Interactive, Action Forms, Crytek and Valve. Not to say that their games are necessarily always good, but they're at least worth checking out.

Usually Tecmo Koei games.

Honestly though I don't pay much attention to reviews. I just get a game if it looks interesting.

used to be bioware, i would have bought anything from those guys....not anymore though DA2 fixed that, same with square and their last couple of crap games.

i would buy anything made by rockstar (not too sure about la noire though as it wasnt really developed by them),

cant say theres all that many devs left that i have 100% faith in most seemed to have become greedy corporations that only care about taking you for every cent you have while not having any pride in their work /rant

Yeah i could take some leaps of faith from some devs.

However i wouldn't do that without reading about the game beforehand and liking it :)!

I learned a long time ago that reviews don't tell the whole story, at least in terms of the score that the game got. My favorite game of all time got a 8.3 here. Reviews are intended to be a quick, effortless evaluation that means that you don't have to think for yourself about what game you will buy. Reviewers know this and so games that get really high scores are games that are safe choices that absolutely everybody will love. That sound great but if you have a higher appreciation for gaming then accessibility and what's 'safe' are actually negative qualities. So the only thing you can really do in that situation is continue to buy games from devs that made games that you liked in the past.

Blizzard, Valve and Nintendo have time and time again proven that they can deliver well polished titles.

Never bother to read reviews any way served me well so far.

I don't even buy games based on reviews. If it looks fun and I haven't had a bad experience with the developer, I'll likely check it out.

Too many developers grow and become willing to tear their game apart to appeal to people who didn't like that type of game in the first place. Interestingly enough, I have more faith in smaller and less known developers who can't rely on name and graphics alone than larger ones just looking to increase profits.

Usually it is a game series, NOT the dev that I have a similar thing with, a series that I know and love, I WILL buy, even if the entry gets a negative review.

As for devs, there are a few, but only as long as it is a game and genre that interrests me (well duh) those being: Valve, GSC, id, Relic, monolith, CDPR,. These DevsI will usually support however way I can, since thier usual games appeal to me, and have been doing so for as long as I remember.

But as stated, it is worse with some game series that even if they switched devs, I still support, a few upcomming ones, being Duke nukem forever and Deus Ex:HR

These devs, and those games will be bought even if they get a 1.0

Game Freak... but just the main Pokemon series, not the spin-offs. The main Pokemon games always seem to be huge RPGs with a lot of content, and I like how they always use the same battle system, just tweaked for improvement. You always know what you're going to expect from a Pokemon game... and the chances are, if you like one of them you're going to like them all because they don't try to fix what isn't broken... they just make it better. Pokemon White and Black got what... 7.5 on Gamespot? And yet they're probably the most enjoyable RPG's I've played this gen, including on consoles. Best JRPG developers out there right now IMO.

No, I have a huge amount of confidence in certain devs, but it's always possible that their quality will slip, or they'll make a game I have 0 interest in and won't buy. The only dev that I own everything form is id, but I'm much more confident in Blizzard.. id cheats though, they have tech that's always new and cool that I wanna mess 'round with, I'm such a sucker.

Well, regardless of reviews yes, I can think for myself, just not regardless in general.

Blizzard games. Honestly, Blizzard isn't the same company it used to be, but I have no doubt they will make a game at least worth purchasing. Valve is another company, while I haven't fully enjoyed all their games I wouldn't be "worried" about buying anything from them in the future.

A company that may join this list after a few more years is From Software. I fell in love with Demon's Soul and Dark Souls will probably be amazing, so if they can create a couple more games that impress me, they will definitely join this list.

None for me. A year or so ago it would have been BioWare but that is no more.
