I think Mirrors Edge, simply because I'd like to see more of it. And that sometimes its flaws sometimes a result from being my own damn fault.
Did that with Red Dead, and Mass Effect 2.
Also a little with RE5, for a minute, because I was transfixed by Shiva's behind.
I sort of agree with Halo Reach, but I still thought it was an amazing game. It just didn't reach Halo 3's level. However, I also think the same for SSF4. I bought Tekken 6, Blazblue CT & SSF4 all on the same day once & SSF4 was the only one I thought was quite boring & bland, but I tried convincing myself it was the king of all fighters etc.. I just don't get the love for it.
Dynasty Warriors 7 as well. I liked Ninety-Nine Nights (and more recently, Sengoku Basara) so I bought DW7 thinking it was the best, because everything else gets compared to it.. It was one of the most... Awkward(?) games I've played. Everything felt so slow & stiff compared to the 'DW clones' I've played. I tried to like it though, a lot of the characters looked cool & I tried using that to enjoy the game but still failed. I returned it for Sengoku Basara which I found to be much better.
I'd also say God of War 3 also. It was a great game, but I played through the GoW collection & GoW 3 over about 3 or 4 days. It was a mistake because no matter how good the games are, I'd grow tired of playing them for that long, but it didn't help that I thought GoW 2 was better than GoW 3 (despite the amazing visuals). I remember trying to convince myself GoW 3 was amazing despite wanting it to end less than 3/4 through. It's a great game though.
Another game that came to mind is Enslaved. It's got a good story, great production values, and pretty decent gameplay, but I think I was trying to convince myself that I liked it more than I did.
Socom Confrontation. I had fun at first, but I played it for awhile after it started getting boring.
Nope, if I don't like a game I don't like it, nothing I can do about it.soulitane
This. I don't see any reason to try to convince myself to like a game more than I do :S
I have tried this many times. I try to tell myself that Gears 1 is amazing. But I can't help but wonder how the game got tons of GOTY awards and so many rave reviews. I did the same with Red Dead Redemption which was an incredibly dull game compared to GTAIV in my opinion. I tried to tell myself that InFamous was such a great game but I got halfway through and stopped playing for months. Kept telling myself it was meh. Played it again recently and now I love it. So I guess it was kind of a reverse effect for me when it came to InFamous.
Heavy Rain is amazing, it does a great job of doling out the heartbreak and letting you choose how it goes, but the plot holes and vaguely European voices are really, really hard to ignore. It makes me hate the game (for a dumb reason, I know), but I tell myself that those are small potatoes compared to the rest of this amazing game.
I can really only name Ico. I tried three times to play the game and like it, tried to appreciate the design and world. Didn't work, needless to say, I just find it utterly boring and almost unplayable.
Shadow of the Colossus is a game I love, but I can't bring myself to play.
Its amazing, its beautiful and its probably the best represenation of games as an artform that we have, but the controls haven't aged well by the time I got around to playing it and I just really, really want to fall in love with it like Yahtzee and many others. For now though, I simply respect and admire the game for what it does, but I sadly am incapable of love apparently.
hmm, I wouldn't say that, BUT sometimes the fun I have with the game is greater than it should be, or that I know I want to give it a higher rating than it deserves. Mass Effect 1 and 2 come to mind with this. I had tons of fun, but there is so much wrong with them.

Both Mario Galaxy games. I tried to like them for the perfect scores they received.. but I just ended up flat out hating them :|
This board is full of people who do that with their 360s...Kan0nF0dderPeople with a 360 don't have time for this, they have been playing their console with working online and better exclusives for a long time now.
Is that why you gave SMG2 a 9.0? I somehow doubt you played either of them, anyway...*puts flame shield up*

And the 360 only has the better shooter exclusives (Halo, Gears). PS3 has much better exclusives in every other genera (Infamous, Uncharted, Demon`s Souls).
