499 dollars is a great value..and to top it off you will get free 5 blue ray movies.. you can pick up resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, MotorStorm and etc..and by this year a few more ps3 exclusive games is goin to drop lair, heavenly sword, warhawk, ratchet and clank, uncharted drakes fortune, haze(time exclusive), folklore, and etc..so you get the best deal for the ps3 and all games that all ps3 owners been waitin for awhile..and next year will be even bigger!!
Value is only a matter of perspective. $499 is still too expensive. I have a blu-ray on my Dell so I really don't care about the player. Not that many appealing games on the PS3 that are exclusive right now. I might grab one winter 07-08 or spring 08
500 bucks is still too much, now its at sega saturn prices, and you know how that went, the casuals and the majority of consumers do not care about bluray, considering a very small percent even own a hdtv, so it dosent matter, 300 dollars is more like it

The PS3 has at least another year before I even think about getting one. I am more than happy with my new PC which blows the new consoles away. So I aint missing them to say the least. Oh I do plan on getting my kids one of the new consoles, just not sure which one yet. The PS3 has a crappy game library and cost way to much. The 360 breaks down way to much to even be considered at this point, and the Wii.....well lets just say I don't consider it next gen and we will just leave it at that.
if i get a 1080p hdtv, and blu ray FOR sure is the clear winner, ill pick one up, its got some amazing games i want to mgs4 uncharted heavenly sword final fantasy's-maybe lol i think thats it, but mgs4 alone is good, same with a blu ray player
If next year will be even bigger, then I can wait until next year. Until I can break my guild wars addiction, there's just not enough hours in the day to console game.
I've bought two PS3s. Theres a big reason why I'm on my second PS3. I had been playing FF9 for ten horus straight and went to go save it and found out that I hadn't set up an internal memory card. Nearly through the ***** thing out the window. Traded it in in a furious rage. But yeah, the only real reason to own a PS3 right nowi s if you got tired of DREs and want to play the new PS2 games like Persona 3.
I consider myself hardcore and only pc gamers are true hardcore imo. Why would some1 from the pc gaming community want a 360 from a company most people hate in the pc community I BOUGHT A PS3 thats for the hardcore
Any one who currently owns a PS3 is probably a hardcore gamer.......since the pricepoints are going to be exactly the same as they were at launch, anyone who buys it is still more than likely a hardcore gamer.
I'm waiting for another $100 price drop since $400 is my limit when it comes to consoles, there are games I want for it but I can't afford it since I have to by games for my 360, and Wii.

whatever man, bein hardcore aint all that. what is then? I got into pc gaming big time and built my pc played all the latest and greatest played in clans etc etc and hardcore was playing games having "leet" hardware playing css in the early hours with clan mates etc etc. 360 is cheap and for the masses just because they dont have many genres that appeals to the masses doesnt make it hardcore to be a fool to own such a unreliable pos. Hardcore is to have the latest and greatest and playing more then the average knowing more then the average. Now I could just be chatting out my a hole and be delusional but thats how i see it.
