GS gave it a good score, along with many other critics. But people have their own opinions, if they think it is mediocre then that's their opinion. It's really not that hard to understand.

Your credibility is gone as it takes longer to complete the campaign BY YOURSELF and not on coop. The 640p argument is just lame cause it looks mighty good on my HDTV. The game is not all hype cause the gameplay and AI are one of the reasons why it scored so high. The game does not play exactly like halo 2 cause some of the buttons are switched around and you have equipment which is very important on legendary difficulty as the enemies rarely miss when they shoot you.

I'm also sick of PS3 fanboys always trying to push their $600 dollar lackluster system onto people. Trying to convince others that spiderman 3 is a reason to get a PS3.

I just beat the single player campaign, took like 8 hours. It was good but way too short. The graphics sucks and I don't care about the mediocre multiplayer... You can find much better multiplayer on pc.Anxz

The graphics are beautiful. The multiplayer is great from an unbiased perspective, and I play PC online too.

The campaign has a brilliant replay value with the great story, brilliant level design, 4 player co-op and scoring/achievments.

I would have to agree with you on the fact of the gameplay everyone is saying it is a short campaign. I would love for people to play the flood chapter in heroic or legendary and come back and tell me how quick it was to beat the game.

The 9.5 is Jeff's Opinon, and just like people get mad about scores being too low, and everyone complains, people are more than welcome to disgree with Jeff's score being too high. I personally think Jeff was playing to the crowd with a 9.5. I think Halo is a great game on xbox, but not an evolutionary game across the board. I think Halo was closer to a 8.5-9.0 in my book(I have it and beat it), especially compared to a game like Half Life 2 or even Bioshock. Remember, that's why we have these boards, to voice our opinions, no matter how much we might disagree with each other.

I had a xbox and pc and halo 1 and 2 were on both. so now when i say halo is great game but only as far sa consoles are concerned but AA game (halo 1) on pc, it would be fine then ?

the game is awsome but it aint a 9.5, more like 9.1 or .2. the game has some problems I shot some dude with a spartan laser dead on and he didnt die, I save the replay, the same thing happened a few time in toher matches, then the second to last level design was attrocous, but the rest of the game is just raw fun, still AAA but not 9.5. that should go to bioshockamorbis1001

That would be fine and dandy if I didn't have any reason to believe that you dislike it for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with the game itself.As in, its not on your console of choiceso you downplay its quality. I 100 percent agree with you. Most people only say that because it's not on their console and they want to downplay the game to make themselves feel better or make it seem like the PS3 is so much better. Really it's quite sad that people go to these lengths. Like it or not Halo is a good game. It may not be this groundbreaking achievement in videogame history but then again neither is Heavenly Sword or Killzone 2 or any game that's coming out for that matter.

Let's see what things Halo3 got away with that docked other games off severely.. 9 hour singleplayer campaign low res graphics passed through an upscaler two, maybe three new weapons? Almost zero new gameplay mechanics in the singleplayer mode EVERY.SINGLE.TEXTURE shiny in the MP including shiny concrete.. The only real thing new in Halo3 compared to H2 is Forge, and map editors are ancient news in gaming because of Unreal Tournament and many other games that came before it. Just face it, Halo3 is the same old crap repackaged with a uber huge ad campaign..Ninpo_Osa

Low-res graphics is a laugh, the game looks stellar in Hi-Def, so drop the "low-res graphics" routine already.

Zero new gameplay mechanics/weapons? That's a laugh! 4 player co-op, being able to use mounted weapons in 3rd person, having bubble shields, deployable cover, flash grenades, jump pads, deployable turrets, and on & on. Not to mention at least 3 new vehicles & at least as many new weapons. And Forge is the best thing to happen to Halo since the series launched on the XBOX.

Throw in the save game feature which allows you to save entire multiplayer matches & campaign levels, & then edit them as you see fit, or just detach the camera & fly around to every inch of the level to find secrets, weapons spawns, etc & you have a stellar package overall.

Maybe you should do some research next time.

SP campaign length is varied across the difficulties. I guarantee you that the sp on legendary difficulty takes more than 9 hours. In alot of peoples opinions, Gears of War had a shorter campaign and scored a 9.6. Sorry but if the campaign is intense then it deserves a great score. Gears and Halo 3's campaigns were as intense as any other great shooter. 4 new vehicles, 4 player coop, tons of multiplayer options. Forge, and saved film feature are great additions. Not to mention there is equipment which adds new strategy in playing the game.
