Any Switch fans just ignoring SSBU?

Ignoring may not be the right word.... Uninspired, meh, flaccid.... You get the point. Are you into your switch but just could not be less interested in another smash brothers game?

I am in that camp.

I know it's a bread and butter game for Nintendo, but there are an infinite number of franchises I'd rather play than more smash.

I’d rather umk3 tbh for a fighting game. Not necessarily on the switch, but a proper port on any platform would be apt.

I'd be all over it 10 years ago. But I have no interest now because I have nobody to play with any more. It's a couch co-op game for me. It would just sit there

@TheEroica: I’m with ya. I don’t own Forza Horizon 3 and it’s the top rated game for X1. I don’t get into racers or fighting games.

I'm looking forward to it no matter what, but I know the feeling of Smash Bros. fatigue.

It better be the best Smash Bros. to date with loads of content and modes.

I would like to see Adventure Mode make a comeback.

I have wanted Ridley in Smash since the Melee days, so that's a good start. I'm also glad Snake is back with the 3rd-party team that he kickstarted in Brawl. The 3rd-party family in Smash has expanded well and it's just not the same to not have Snake, the one that started it.

I would love to see Rex and Pyra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 be in the game. I think they would be a great new duo fighter like Ice Climbers. King K. Rool, why is he not in the game yet? That'll probably change.

Banjo-Kazooie might be the ultimate surprise addition to Smash Bros. Ultimate, and that possibility is actually not out of question. Phil Spencer has expressed numerous times he's totally cool with the bear and bird joining the team if Nintendo is cool with it too. And plus Nintendo and Microsoft have been doing the tango as of late with crossplay activity.

I just hope that if we're going to have a new Smash game, it really lives up to its "Ultimate" moniker.

There is so much potential to truly "wow" the players here, and let's hope Nintendo does at least some of these things.

That's how I feel about any SB to be honest.

I really enjoyed Smash on Gamecube and it was a favourite party game for when friends came over, but I have not had any interest for the series ever since. Didn't play the Wii version, nor the Wii U version, nor the one on 3DS.

I'll most likely play Soul Calibur this year and that's it.

Never cared for the series. So, it will come and go just like the rest of them.

Last Soul Calibur I played was on gamecube as well, lol.

Nah, actually I did play Soul Calibur IV, but not much.

No interest whatsoever in ANY Nintendo made games.

I’m sure that there will be some but I definitely won’t be one of them. I am very hyped for this game.

I played the GameCube smash the most. I just hope this game has more single player modes. At this point I would rather have more content than characters.

Its the way it is for some of these Nintendo games for me. Smash, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Not mainland Mario Something etc. I'm not vested in them just happy when a friend own them for couch mp.

If there's no story like the last Smash, then it's a hard pass.

I like Smash and think it's good that a new one is on the way, but I also think a lot of cool franchises are missing on the Switch. Some I'd like to see more than another Smash.

I have a small amount of anticipation for this game, but it's not a game that I'm super excited for since the Smash Bros. series have always been games that I somewhat like but I don't love.

So I'll probably buy it when it releases, but it's not the big Nintendo game that I'm looking forward to this year. I'm much more excited for Super Mario Party than I am for Smash Bros.

No. I am excited for the latest interation as do the previous ones. However, it has reached a point where there are not that many iconic third-party characters with universial appeal that have yet to appear in Super Smash Bros. Sonic (Sega), Snake (Konami), Mega Man (Capcom), Cloud (Square-Enix), Ryu (Capcom), Pac-Man (Namco-Bandai), and Bayonetta (Sega), have already made their appearances.

I wish those development resources went into something more interesting, yes. Smash 4 wasn't even that long ago.

I'm going to ignore the hell out of it... Until launch day!!!

While I find these games fun and essential to whatever Nintendo device I own, and probably picking the next one up, I am not exactly gushing with hype over it.

I guess you can't expect every game that comes out for a platform to appeal to everyone.

Never really got into Smash.

I skipped on WiiU ... and a year ago I probably would have guessed I do the same on the Switch...

Nah I plan on getting it. I honestly didn't play the Wii U one very much, was too busy playing other games so this should be a nice surprise for me, to see what changed with the game. Plus I still have the adapter and various gamecube controllers lying around so why not.

I don't love smash. I play a smash for maybe 20 hours and then I'm done. The online always sucks.

And even I can't ignore Smash. Day one buy.

Considering a few months after release anyone want to play online multiplayer would have to pay subscription fees to play online might be a deal breaker for some.

I'm a pretty big Nintendo fan, but I've never cared for the ssb series. Needless to say I won't be buying SSBU

I been playing SSB since the golden age on N64, I played them all on every Nintendo consoles to date and still haven't been burned out since Nintendo only releases SSB one console at a time and unlike Halo, Forza, & Gears, SSB isn't nowhere near saturated the market and I like the way Nintendo only releases SSB on every Nintendo consoles one time only.

So I'm hype for SSB Ultimate as it is.

Haven't played a Smash game since the Wii's Brawl.

I like the Switch, but I really only use it for single player games, mostly 'indies' (I hate myself for using the term, but it's easy) that I want to be able to play while laying in bed. TBH I can't imaging playing Switch games online either, who knows why it's irrational. The only MP game for it I own is Mario Kart.

Next big Switch game on my radar is Metroid Prime 4 whenever that is supposed to come out.

It will be the most popular fighting game in the world and have an amazing roster and features, with a "basic" online.

I hope the multiplayer has been upgraded at least, then it will be a keeper.

smash and splatoon are my most played online nintendo games.

mario kart in 3rd. a shame. because i used to adore mario kart (especially 4 player splitscreen battle mode). but the new 12 player/blue shell/fuckfest that it is now. i cant stomach it for more than 30 hours.

I'll pick it up. I don't think i've ever played a Smash game, so i'll give it a shot.

No. I don't have incredibly high expectations since the last two Smash games were just okay, but there's only a couple of games coming out this year that could top it.

switch is my first nintendo console so im quite hyped

i havent played a smash game in a while. its also a series well suited to a handheld so i intend to get it. i just hope the SP side is a bit more developed and the controls are as nice as in melee.

Never played it, looking forward to trying it. Seems to have a shit-ton of content.

It's a day 1 for me.
