OnLive as a service is trash, but it's innovative trash, this sort of thing has never been done before, it's unique trash. And the trash console is coming out next month.DarkestDestiny
And quite possibly in the future when the internet is faster this might become the normal way all those kiddies play their Call of Duty.
Im still wondering how they have enough systems to be able to broadcast the games. With current gen technology i cant think of anything other than one-to-one:?GulliversTravelTHIS. Which is why the games look like Xbox 1 titles.
[QUOTE="Lto_thaG"]Yeah. Me too. I have seen you post ALOT of onlive threads, and no disrespect when I say this, but...are you in an Affiliate Marketing or Viral Marketing program with them or something? That is honestly the only way I could see why someone would support this product so much.I like it.

Nope. I actually love the service. :)
If the only problem with the service is the bandwidth, then they've done something great here. As more and more people are able to use this service, their userbase will grow. They've basically created a new market entirely.
I'm tempted to try it out just for kicks...Every game should look and run beautifully I assume with a 40/40 connection?

Only if you live within like 50 miles from a data center...
A month or so ago when Onlive announced that they were removing their fees permanently, i thought Id make an account and give it a try. I was dissapointed with my experience to say the least. I am making this thread to let you know that Onlive is absolute garbage, and is not even worth the 3 minutes it takes to sign up and download the web client. What I noticed: - Assassins Creed 2 was the first game demo I thought id try out. Mind you, I have already played both the 360 and PS3 versions of the game on my 42 incher. (borrowed friends 360 and game when the game came out, liked it so much that I re-bought it for my PS3). The first thing I noticed was how god awful the graphics were. I wanted to throw up in my mouth lol. The game LITTERALLY looks like a PS2/XBOX game, and I am NOT exaggerating one bit when I say that.. -The next games I played was Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Borderlands. Both of these games suffer from the same fate as the one above. I was absolutely floored at how bad the graphics were, especially for a service that was hyped up to be able to run Crysis at MAX settings easily. And anyone who says its because of my internet speed, here are my speedtest results: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1033404494.png At the end of the day, the games for the service cost about the same or some even more than just buying them off of steam. If you are serious about computer gaming, do not even give this piece of trash service a chance, just buy a graphics card and get the games off of steam or something. And im not a hermit or PC elitist, im actually a PS3 fan and could care less about PC gaming. but I just thought Id give my opinion for anyone who was considering giving this service a try.Tombaman48umad
Give us some screenshots of Assassin's Creed. I already know you're lying, so don't bother coming up with an excuse as to why you can't press "Print screen" and post it here. If it looks like a PS2 game, which I already know it doesn't, I want to see it.
Give us screens or stop posting needlessly provocative threads.
Im still wondering how they have enough systems to be able to broadcast the games. With current gen technology i cant think of anything other than one-to-one:?GulliversTravelThere's actually multiple instances of a game running on a server at any given time. OnLive doesn't actually buy the servers. They aren't paying full price for any of the hardware.

Not true. I live over 500 miles away from the San Francisco Data Center and it runs beautifully.[QUOTE="Rikusaki"][QUOTE="GulliversTravel"]Im still wondering how they have enough systems to be able to broadcast the games. You can the fastest systems out there, but nothing will be able to handle two games of Crysis running at the same time.

And oh please, Lying? Really? Please stop. Tell me, what exactly could I possibly gain from lying about about something so trivial? Your acting as if what I said was far fetched enough to even warrant accusing me of "lying". If your that skeptical about it just try it out for yourself. Just make a quick account, and download the web client. It takes about 3 minutes.

We arent saying you are lying, but we are saying you're connection speed, where you live etc just might not be good enough for Onlive. Your connection speed aint anything special to write home about.

Rikusaki just shut the OP down.
The screens speak for themselves.
I would love to try onlive but yesterday it didn't connect due to bad latency.
Today it crashes when i log in. Gj.

here are your screenshots of Assassins Creed 2. Someone embed them for me please. Some of them i messed up because the bar wasnt at the top in MS paint, but you can still fully see the crappiness. http://i54.tinypic.com/qnr636.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/142hbio.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/4dvtz.jpg http://i56.tinypic.com/103zuk8.jpg http://i56.tinypic.com/33f9p8w.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/2uohsb8.jpg Please. Are you honestly trying to tell me that that isnt bad? Those look like Xbox 1 screens to say the least. And Ive played BOTH the 360 and PS3 versions of the game, in 720p on a 42 inch. Any more PROOF you want from me?The feeling i get when i play OnLive is the same as the one that i get when i play consoles. I think "Wow, i have to wait 1/4-1/2 of a second to have my character respond and i am playing on a HD tv and it looks terrible." Yep, pretty much the same. The graphics are a bit worse than consoles, but really not much. I like the idea, though.
I've never noticed a significant input delay on consoles unless it's down to actual lag....The feeling i get when i play OnLive is the same as the one that i get when i play consoles. I have a question for Rikusaki: Onlive creates two separate streams of video right? One for replays that is stored locally, and one for streaming to you. How do we know that it's not actually a replay?rpgs_shall_ruleYou'd see my information on the top-right of the screen. And from my experience, the media stream actually looks worse than the live compressor used during gameplay.
Thats not a very fair comparison lol, Vice City was a good ass game, but its graphics are a terrible benchmark to go by in reguards to the PS2. If anything, it looks like an Xbox 1 title. Here are some Chronicles of Riddic Xbox 1 screens: http://www.1up.com/media/01/0/8/4/lg/614.jpg http://www.1up.com/media/01/0/8/4/lg/613.jpg http://www.1up.com/media/01/0/8/4/lg/612.jpg http://www.1up.com/media/01/0/8/4/lg/611.jpg The game most certainly doesnt look anywhere NEAR the 360/PS3 version of AC2 thats for certain. And to make matters worse, it looks like a compressed youtube video in motion. Those pics dont look nearly as bad as you said...id like to see acutal screens of when you are Enzo. That DOESNT LOOK PS2...Go to google, type VICE city, then hit images...and tell me it looks like that.

When i had a OnLive rant in my head i can't deny the good things about it, like watching other people play. That's pretty genius i wounder if consoles of today can somehow use it.
Like someone sitting on a xbox playing call of duty sitting in a party chatting with someone, "hey watch me play this map i love it!" "Sure!".

All it says is OnLive. You'd have to show me a clip/screenshot of it being different during a replay to prove otherwise. Oh, and how is it possible that uncompressed video looks worse than ridiculously compressed video?
I have a question for Rikusaki: Onlive creates two separate streams of video right? One for replays that is stored locally, and one for streaming to you. How do we know that it's not actually a replay?rpgs_shall_ruleAnd what exactly would I have to gain by LYING and deceiving everyone here into thinking Onlive has terrible graphics? (an idea that is pretty widely shared all over the internet among the majority of people who have used it). Do you honestly believe that i went through that much effort to trick you guys, and essentially prove NOTHING?
The thing is, you know how when console screenshots are posted here, and they look MUCH better in motion? or when played on a TV? Yea, this doesnt. It LITTERALLY looks EXACTLY like the screenshot. When you actually play the game, it looks like you are watching a compressed youtube video of the game. It just doesnt feel like the game is actually running on your system. (even though its not)It doesn't look THAT bad TC...
You exaggerated a bit :P
But yeah, it does look pretty crappy.
