Well, im not sure if it's because of all this "next gen" talk and all that, or if it's just the mood i've been in, but lately, i've just been playing old games.

I just beat parasite eve the secret way, and now i'm trying to beat number 2 on nightmare...man it's hard.... next im gonna try to find a $4 copy of onimusha 2... (the first was good, but wouldent be worth a normal purchase because of the short legenth, but... for $4.. definatly worth it)...and then the 3rd.. because Jean Reno is a pimp (and probably the 4th after that if its cheap enough).

Then i'm thinkin i'll play MP 1/2 .. never played them.. and all i've bought for my gc i've had 2 years is RE 4, 1, 0 in that order.. oh, and double dash for the gf.. so.. maybe i'll make it worth that 150 i spent on it...

Anywho, I'll probably buy a ps3 at some point, for super rub-a-dub (and mgs 4/ RFOM/ FFXIII at some point)

I was curious if anyone else is fealing the same way? going back to the games you never bothered thinking about the last few gens?

Oh, also, I'm gonna try to look for some DC games... before they're iimpossible to find, any suggestions?

Going both old school and new school is the best bet for a gamer. I just got a Wii today... :D... so I will be filling it up with VC games very soon.

I don't know about this "old school". I guess old school for me was anything before the Atari 2600, because for the rest of the consoles and the Arcades, I grew up with them and they were what was new in gaming in my time.

Nostalgia is spreading across the world. A lot of people are watching old movies, and reverting to listening to old music as well. I don't know what the cause of it is, but I love it!

Yes, but all of those systems are "old-school" by today's standards. That's what he meant.

Probably because we've tired out nearly every medium known to man, bar a few unique exceptions. The world in general is running out of steam.

Yes!  Absolutely, I'm going through the exact same thing and I just got my 360.  Although, it's not because I'm unhappy with my 360, it's more because I haven't had a PS2 of my own through the entire generation until now, so I'm playing everything I've missed.  Right now I'm going through God of War for the first time.  Just started yesterday.  Next I'll be doing the PS2 Final Fantasies.  Any opinions on those?  Is Final Fantasy X worth $19.99?

That depends if you go by the standards. But you can't set the same standard to all ages. There's a difference if you were alrady gaming when the NES was first released or if you weren't born yet.

It gives you a different perispective.

Well, I was born in 1990, but I my family already owned a Master System, Atari 2600, NES, and Gameboy, and by the time I was old enough to hold a controller we had a Genesis and a SNES as well. I've been gaming since I was about 4 years old, so I don't really know what kind of perspective I should have. I just consider anything more than a generation old "old-school".

I tend to play SmashTV more than I do Gears and LTTP stopped me in the middle of a 3rd run thru TP. So yeah, old school still shines and I'd rather play some of the other games than the newer games.

There are so many good games that I have never played. So I always keep my eye out for good games no matter the system.
