I can't put it down. I mean, it's not nearly as scary as the first one, but the fact that your a big daddy kicks !$#%.

I guess the only complaint is that the first one seemed a little more challenging and scarier, but, still, I think this game deserves atleast a 9.

thoughts...

Currently beat Mass Effect.....Waiting to beat Bioshock 2 and getting Heavy Rain next tues :)

I'm not sure yet, my copy is barely touched. It did grab me at first, I will have to give it another go. The problem is that I'm used by my friends for Co-op games, since I'm pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Any Co-op game, I'm the guy to call. So, I'm putting down AAA games to help buddies finish games like Army of 2 :40 days, which is okay, but I would rather just be offline for a month sometimes. lol.

I'll get to Bio 2 soon enough.

I think it's overrated.

I couldn't stop playing the first one. I beat it one sitting, I didn't even get up to eat.

The second one? Meh.

Same gameplay, but not even close to as immersive, not even challenging at all. I played it on Hard with Vita Chambers off on my first playthrough and have been breezing through the game. I died more in BioShock 1 with Vita Chambers on, on Medium.

i think it's just as good as the first game. 9.0, imo. I loved the improvements to the gameplay, and i thought the story was just as interesting and intriguing as the first game's.

I agree. It starts of slow but then gets really amazing. The story is really good and the atmosphere, details to stuff has never been better. Not only that but the MP is actually fun and like, you get to have your own room in rapture that you get to explore in.

i totally agree, the game was deserving of better scores. the story is top notch, up there with the first one. It seems as if you didn't beat it yet so i won't spoil it, but the ending (if you get the good one) is really good, better tahn the 1st games ending imo. The gamplay is also a lot better and taking down several splicers using incinerate 3 and fully upgraded machine gun is awesome. towards the end you really start to feel like a bad@$$ with how powerful you are. the multiplayer has its problems, but the inclusion of hacking, plasmids, and tonics helps to make it seems fresh compared to so many other shooters. excelent buy and a greeat sequal to the first

I beat it already and didn't really like the story as much as the first. In the first, you had andrew ryan and fontaine duking it out for control of rapture.

(spoilers)

In the second one, it's basically whoever is left (lamb) trying to take over the place. She's never even mentioned in the first one so it seems kinda just patched up together to make a game. There's not even a fight with her and there isn't an end boss or anything. You basically fight off hordes of alpha daddies and huge splicers at the end. There also isn't anything that seems like a huge improvement from the first one or any new innovation in plasmids. I guess my main problem with the second one doesn't have as strong a story as the first.

It's better than I expected, but it's also not as good as I hoped. For the majority of the game I was pretty sure the general review consensus was a few notches below what my own opinion was, that I would have scored it higher, but after finishing it and thinking back on the game I find myself mostly agreeing with the reviews that scored it in the 8.5 area. It's not a bad or shoddy game, not at all and the environments are as atmospheric as ever, the vo work and writing unusually intelligent - but to me Bioshock was a little more of a dangerous game, a little nastier (certainly to a degree because some of the ideas were more fresh then) and more unhinged. As fun as Ryan Amusements was, I was hoping for a bit more of what I think of as the "Fort Frolic" craziness. I know it's a bit unfair to hope for something original that will top something that WAS original, lol, but I was really hoping for some more facinating and deranged characters like Sander Cohen and more standout moments - I think I just would have liked to see the game go in a bit of a different direction that they chose. But I also have to temper all this with admitting I was really glad to return to Rapture and I really enjoyed the game, which is why I would have given it a very good, just not great or perfect score.

I 100% agree with you. I was a big fan of the first Mass Effect (and its still my favorite 360 game) but the second won felt rushed and just the same game....

If anything, some Wii games like Silent Hill and No More Heroes 2 are very underrated here and in sales. What a shame. :(

No I think its quite overrated

The MP is trash laggy and glitch filled, One of the reasons the first game was so good is because they didn't waste their time on a Multiplayer component.

The single player is not nearly as good as the 1st games storywise, atomosphere even gameplay the awesome hacking minigame is taken infavor of a twitchy exercise that totally belays what essence of the 2nd game.

Its no longer a slow paced FPS adventure, its a twitchy quick FPS with little adventure elements at all and we all ready have enough halos, and Call of duties and bad companies Bioshock 1 was very anti FPS you had to go around you had to think, you dont have to think in bioshock 2 just run through killing and smashing the gambit of enemies on the easier difficulties.

The story isn't quite as gripping so far, but it has more of an emotional heart (exploring the nature of the relationship between the Little Sister and the Big Daddy) and the gameplay, with the improved combat, hacking ect, is just more fun than the first Bioshock, which could often feel quite clunky. The weapons are much more satisfying, the new enemy types give minute to minute gameplay more variety and the ADAM extraction segments are a great, intense addition. I really love the game.

Agreed. It's a solid AAA game if ever I played one. I'm on my second play through now.

agree starts off real slow but builds to a brilliant ending and a much more emotionally invloving story

and doesnt go down the route of 'oh now heres the totally out of place boss fight at the end'

and the gameplay is significantly better

i love it but its to short it just feels like the developers focused more on pleasing the multiplayer crowd with that lagfest multiplayer then spending time on the reason bioshock 1 was so good

it just is to short the second things got challenging the game ended

personally the 8.5 and 8s sound about right(this is igorning the multplayer and the so many things wrong with it)

the games meh.. the only goo part of it is, SPOLILERS were you play as a little sister and you get to see the world, how they see it/////

other then that, theres not much going on for the game, the few scary parts in it, they seem to try way to hard, no bosss,(just a few different splicers that take more damage to kill) and the big sister is a scam, you always fight her once you save all or kill all the sisters... theres no point to them at all.

I really like Bioshock 2, dont get me wrong but... everytime I play it it lacks something. I dunno what but it feels... incomplete.
