Recently gone back to my WiiU after neglecting it for my PS4 and FFXIV. Splatoon has had another update "Museum D'alfonsino" recently so i thought i'd dabble. Anyone else on SWs still playing Splatoon or has it become cannon fodder for other games.

I played it a bit 2 days ago, after being dormant for months.
Either I have started sucking, or the other players started getting really good. One thing I noticed though is that players have started being really active with using sub weapons.
Edit: I could tell Nintendo have been busy with the game. I spent what felt like 15 minutes just being told of all the new weapons that were available to me. It was redicilous. 8 New maps as well? I have a LOT of catching up to do.
Rarely. Fallout 4 is getting the attention right now, and before that, Zelda: Skyward Sword and Resident Evil 4. Last time I played they greeted me with about 20 new weapons. This just made me weary, like, "am I supposed to try all these? It will take an hour" and I just didn't feel like playing anymore.. :P I might jump in soon again, but for now it's Fallout time.

When you don't play for a couple of weeks there's always some new weapons to get used to. I had so much trouble up against the Slosher when I was MIA for a couple of weeks.
As fun as the game in I would really like to be able to choose what Ranked game I play. I only enjoy splat zones.
@charizard1605: must be just me who keeps changing gear and weapons constantly then .
I would like to change weapons, but it's difficult to do so when you don't know what your team mates have and you can't change the weapon in the lobby.
I stopped playing Splatoon on August, but my 9 year old just won't stop playing the game. She keeps destroying squids, with 10 more kills than she is killed mostly. But she's always stuck playing with noobs in ranked matches getting her stuck with a B+ rank for quite a while now.
Edit; Wow, that was some broken English... Fixed.

I don't like how you have an individual rank but you are scored as a team. Also I have had games before where people have either quit or lagged out before the game started and end up with 3 players which means guaranteed defeat.
I stopped playing it after the "big update" somewhere in July or early August. I was disapointed. I wanted to play offline with bots from time to time but it is an 100% online shooter so I gave up on it.
Still playing on a regular basis. Most fun game that came out this year for me. Also, to Charizard, I played ranked matches with a buddy yesterday and I was able to change my weapon in the lobby. I dont know if you can do this on the other modes as didnt try but just thought I would mention it.
Its been about two weeks since i have played it, been playing Yoshi Woolly World and Xenoblade like crazy trying to finish them both. Ill be back to Splatoon soon though sometime during Xenoblade Chronicles X. I love that i can pick it up and put it down easily, i do the same with Mario Kart, Mario Maker, and Smash Bros.
I wanted to get it but I didn't think there was enough content in the game at launch. Did they add more to it since then?
@BigShotSmoov007: Yeah, theyve added insane amounts. New maps, modes, weapons, gear, all that jive.
That's wassup, then I'll definitely look to get it for the holidays.
I haven't jumped in yet and I'm not sure when I will. My competitive multiplayer time is being spent with Halo 5, and my cooperative multiplayer time with Destiny: The Taken King. If I'm not playing one of those two games, I'll be playing single player.
That said, the game is on sale on Black Friday for $25 and if I have the chance I'll probably grab it.
I play it once in awhile.
Sadly I play other games and can't go back to Splatoon even though they've (finally) added enough content in the game to warrant the $60 price tag.
@charizard1605: is it easy to find games and matchmake? I was thinking of picking it up since I saw Black Friday ads of it going for $25 at Walmart (hopefully Amazon has a similar deal, I don't trust Walmart with my CC info)
@lamprey263: Is super fast matchmaking good enough for you? Although I have the usb ethernet plug in so can't say about wi-fi.
no, ludicrous speed or bust =P
@lamprey263: That $25 price is awesome, im gonna try and get a copy for my brother for Christmas. I bought him Bloodborne already, but wont hurt to get him one more on the cheap i guess.
Been playing mostly Woolly World but I want to hop back in and spend some real time with this game. It truly is a bright spot in a lack luster gen 8.

You seem like an awesome brother.
Hes probably and even better one.
Played tonight and there was some level 50 no-lifer going around with a roller and destroying everybody. Don't think he ever got killed in the five or so matches I played with him. Makes me wonder if these guys hack/cheat or just play all day every day? Either way that's lame.

Or he's just goold old fashioned better than you at the game. What a concept?

Nah, I mean I admire good players, but sometimes you know when something is up, like when a player repeatedly goes 70+ and 0 again and again (in this case he'd score 20+ kills, 1800 points every match). A team of 4 good players surrounded him and couldn't kill him? nah, don't think so. I know I hit him repeatedly and so did the others on my team.
I used to play that game daily. Got to S+ rank, logged close to 200 hours.
But then Mario Maker and Triforce Heroes came out and I've been playing that ever since. I intend on going back to Splatoon very soon though. Especially before Xenoblade Chronicles X comes out.
I play this game more than anything I own at the moment. This is my GOTY.
I go back n forth with my GOTY with this and The Witcher 3. On the one hand this game is super addictive, but it doesn't have a proper sp campaign, so the MP gets old pretty fast. But then again they keep adding content and luring me back in. Can't make up my mind lol.
Might end up being Fallout 4, but right now I can't seem to get in to it like I thought I would. Probably because so many damn games keep coming out and distracting me from sticking to one for any amount of time.

Witcher 3 is very good! It's definitely worthy for a mention, but like you, I keep coming back to Splatoon.
Campaign to me feels more like a set of Obstacle Courses (which I'm fine with because they teach you some useful skills for getting around in Multiplayer). Final Boss is ridiculously hard though. What a swear-fest that was, lol.
The game sure has come a long way since launch! I'm glad all the extra content is free or I'd be really effing broke!
Yeah I manage to find some time to play this most days.
I mix up my weapon set-up every now and again, mostly if I have a really bad streak going on and decide that maybe doing something different to spice things up will maybe set me on the right track again.
Final Boss is ridiculously hard though.
Surely you jest. Obstacle Course is a good way to put it, it's basically a platformer. It's like Ratchet n Clank if it was more platformer, less shooter. A little underdeveloped though for Nintendo in that regard, but a lot of the game was underdeveloped.
I just got back into this after I had some connection issues due to lousy internet. I haven't got to play the new map yet unfortunately.
