Anyone else think the prototype controller looked better than the DualShock 4?

i think the Dualshock 4 they showed off looks very "awkward".  It most likely wont be final, and they said it wasnt final hardware anyways.

IMO the prototype looked both sleeker, and like it would be more comfortable in your hand.

As another user pointed out a few days ago, the new controller still is still held with your fingers rather than your palms, akin to the original Dualshock.

Rather than the above, as well as the 360 pad.

yuck.

id have to see official screenshots (impossible at this point) of the prototype, because the quality of the prototype pics are probably making it look better than it is

I'm comfortable with DualShock 3 and it's perfectly fine.

I don't know how I will react to this one until I get my hands on it. But it's Sony, so it should be okay. They know how to design decent controllers, unlike Microsoft.

I just want the controller to be bigger.

Somewhere between 1.5-2x the size of 360 controller would be ideal.

Looks almost identical and I'd say they look as bad as each other.  Hope they revise it a bit.

I didn't say 2x.I said between 1.5 and 2.

Something like,1.6 or 1.654.

I don't see a big difference other than the shape of the lightbar.

This is going to be one outstanding controller from the looks and sounds of it.

  • Good shoulder buttons
  • Better sticks apparently , and slightly farther apart
  • Bigger D-pad
  • Better overall shape - more comfortable to hold
  • Grippy undersurface
  • Improved rumble
  • Improved latency
  • Headphone jack if you're into that
  • Touch Pad / lightbar / speaker / share / options

I prefer convex sticks to concave ones , and was hoping that they just added that edge around the sticks while keeping it convex ..... but I'll deal with the concave I guess. I'll have to adjust.

Don't see the difference, They're both excellent pads, They added everything that the PS3 was lacking however the PS3 controller was too small, I just want it to become bigger, X360 was the perfect gamepad ever made (Except for the D-Pad part)

for those who say they dont notice a difference, the prototype is larger, and its grips are more broad.
