Anyone else unhappy about Gearbox working on Duke Nukem Forever?

Make no mistake, for this is not a Gearbox bashing thread. I love them, but I reeeeally was hoping for a sequel to Borderlands. Them picking up Duke Nukem Forever just means that the sequel will be put on hold :(

Ohwell. I'm still playing the crap out of Borderlands and loving every second. Can't wait to check out the DLC.

They probably just have a separate team on Borderlands 2. I don't see why this is going to stop everything else in production.

i really dont know how the game will turn out. just wish its as good as borderlands

Don't care cause Duke Nukem hasn't had a game out in years. Put some good games out soon and all is good. We need good games to play not wait decades to play them.

They've already said that this game isn't going to affect other projects. They probably have more than one team working on games.

i was ready to flame you TC, but then you said you were disappointed that they weren't making Borderlands 2, so it's all good. i'm happy that Gearbox is keeping busy with a lot of projects, but i'm also kinda bummed we have no official word on Borderlands 2.

DNF was basically finished when Gearbox acquired it. 3DR did around 90% or the work, and Tiptych (a studio of ex-3DR guys who refused to let the game die) did most of the rest. Gearbox is mainly doing polishing, and a lot of ex-3DR guys are on the new team over there, the most important being Allen Blum, a Duke Nukem Co-creator. They have their own team I wouldn't worry about it delaying other projects.

Only thing I'm unhappy about is I thought the project finally died. Now that we hear it's going to be released, it's like an old wound being opened again. Also, it sorta has a legendary status, that Duke game we never played. There's always a chance for disappointment when it releases. At least when it's unreleased we can use our imagination and think how good the game could've been if it was released when it was supposed to. It sort of had a legendary status to it. Now that it'll release, all imagination will be killed along with it.

I hope it gets delayed another 10 years, I don't like the fact it's suddenly getting released and how it's going to lose it's mythical status. They should just change the name to "Duke Nukem" and have it be like a revival of the series similar to what "Turok" was a couple years ago..... that way, "Duke Nukem:Forever" will technically never be released.JJnyg24

i doubt its going to affect it much. duke nukem 3D was a great game and still is, i have it on xbox live arcade

The part with the 2 chicks? Mafia 2 has a scene in it that involves the same thing.

All that stuff is pretty common now. The game will get an M rating easily.

I wasnt tlaking about how they think it may get an AO rating, I was talking about some of the stuff they mentioned, it sounds like it could be hilarious.

Ah, I completely forgot that they revived that game also. Seems like Gearbox is making a habit out of saving dead projects. Pretty cool of them if you think about it. Any chance they will revive Starcraft: Ghost? :)
