was 360 a core?

I asked this because I haven't heard a single case of someone who got RROD 360 being a core model. I wonder if RROD has mostly affects Premium Xbox 360 systems?

I purchased a core Xbox 360last November and it still works today. I didn't the Core and Premium were any different other than the 20GB HDD, and Component cable being sold seperately, and the disc tray having a silver on it. Could the core systems operate better than the premiums?

Nope. Launch(ish) premium still going strong. Ironically it only took my Wii 1 month to start getting phantom DRE's.

As far as I know they consist of the exact same components. At least the earlier ones. These days there's like three different revisions or something. Who knows which mobos get put in what models. Do they even manufacture Cores any longer?

Yeah, my core RROD'd twice. MS was really good about repairing it, though, so I'm not the least bit annoyed.

I think the core may be less likely to RRoD because of the air vents (or at least what looks like vents) where the HDD goes. I assume that since many core owners don't use HDD's (or else they would have bought the premium) their 360 has better ventilation, and is therefore less prone to overheating. Of course I could be completely wrong here but it makes sense.

I thought core systems were safe but now I see they are no different than the Premiums. I must got the luck of the draw though because I'm still using my first Xbox 360 core I bought on Black Friday last November. I purchased a 2-year in-store warranty, and was glad to hear that Microsoft had extended there mgft warranty. The 360 box says the manufacture date was Oct. 2006, but I don't think that means anything since Microsoft just now corrected the problems.

If anything I would like to get my paws on the Xbox 360 arcade now that has replaced the Cores, because it comes with a wireless pad, and has built-in HDMI, I would definitely use my Best Buy warranty to replace my Core for that if my system ever RRODs. I only got 1 year left after November. ;)

I think you hear more RROD coming from Pro owners instead of core owners is because of 2 reasons. #1 Their is way more people who owner the Pr compare to the core. #2 most people who buy the core I bet use it less (probably mostly casual gamers would pick a core over the Pro).

Exactly what does RROD stand for?

Well, in any case, though the system hasn't fried, the drive in my Dad's 360 did decide to stop working awhile ago. It was still under warranty, until he decided he'd try to fix it himself.

had my 360 since last may (premium) and i really hate it when people make it seem like everyone gets RROD. My brother got it, and maybe a few of his friends, but that only because they, and most other gamers that claim they got RROD, place there 360's on a shelf-type desk that has their tv on top (if you gusy understand what i mean). i myself found my 360 overheating, but that was only before i moved my 360, next to my t.v. out of the shelf-like-thing, standing vertically. lol, im only stating this because i hate when people post and bash the 360 simply because of RROD when, in most (maybe not all) the gamer could have prevented the event to occur. SORRY FOR OFFTOPIC. as for topic, i dont think core 360's get rrod as often, but what am i too say?

I've had my premium 360 for a year and a half, no probs so far. Though I do ocassionally dread that one day when I think "Y'know, I could go for some Oblivion" that it'll happen.

Yeah, you should suspend it in mid-air to maximize the ventilation. Anyone who doesn't do this only has himself to blame if his 360 breaks.

I mean, are you serious? Most 360's break because they're placed on a shelf under the TV? Let's assume that to be true. It's the users fault the console can't handle being placed on a shelf under the TV like any other electronic device in existance?

But since that isn't true, and the reason 360's RROD is because it has a design flaw, I just don't see what relevance it has. Your arguement is just so utterly ridiculous I'm having difficulties believing it's not some sort of joke.
