Especially new ones. Especially ever since they've put them on Game Pass. I haven't. Which is fine, I mean I'm still paying for gamepass, but at the same time I don't have to dish out 60 bucks for a game which is (in microsoft's case) probably not gonna be worth it.

Do you? Perhaps you don't even own Game Pass and still do it old school.

I can only think of two games in the near future I'll play on GP day one but will actually end up buying " with GP Discount " before it's taken down from GP; Halo: Infinite and Gears 5. :D

Yep, I do. Game Pass is a great deal for sure however I don’t subscribe to it myself. I prefer getting my games on a physical format plus I’d rather own them and play them at my own pace.

Does Rare Replay counts? It is my one and only favorite Xbox One exclusive game I enjoy coming from MS.

I’m getting to the point where Nintendo’s exclusives are the only ones that interest me. Sony seems to want to turn their video game studios into their movie studios. While Microsoft... well who knows what the hell theyre doing? The only franchises they haven’t completely fumbled on are Gears and Forza, and those seem to be losing their magic as of late. I don’t know what the hell Halo 5 was trying to be and State of Decay, Sea of Thieves and (soon) Crackdown 3 have been HUGE letdowns.

For once GoldenElementXL, I totally agree with you. PC/Nintendo (consoles) Switch is really the best combo around. Sony is okay, but I think PS4 will be my last Sony console purchase and I like Sony's offering but nothing really big stands out for me now. This gen isn't bad, it's be satisfying for me but moving into next-gen, I'll just stick with Nintendo purchase only and PC for everything else.

MS however, at least they are releasing their games on PC, I consider those to be a nice bonus if I see something that interest me, so they can do whatever they want with their games.

Sony exclusives tend to have excellent gameplay. People just call them movie games because the presentation is so good. But the gameplay is also superb. GoW had top notch mechanics. Brawling in Spiderman was a perfect match for the character. Horizon has a pretty unique take on TPS, Bloodborn was widely praised etc.

Game Pass is awesome.

Honestly I'd prefer the whole industry embrace this type of service. Sure you can buy a game at full price if you want, but most games I only want to play once and GP seems like a better deal for those.

Also exclusivity sucks. It's a corporate tool and games end up being worse for it.

They have been the weakest for sure. The stuff they have tried to do did not work out. Sea of thief could have been revered as a return to greatness for rare. I hope things will get better in the future. New studios along with a return to form for Halo and Gears. To be honest its been ok on exclusive front for all of them including nintendo for me. The best thing nintendo made was BOTW and that's it. The rest are just nintendo fanservice same mario shit and wii u left overs. Sony is throwing same shit and getting one or two to stick. If we want to be critical for real all of them can do better.

Bar original Halo for PC back in the day, I never have and probably never will.

Got gamepass right now though, just to play a bit of Sea of Thieves with my buds. Mildly enjoyable game, devoid of content. It has potential, which isn't something you want to say about a game that's been out for a year.

@Sushiglutton: I’ll give you Bloodborne. Horizon, Spider-Man and GoW are just button mashing, QTE bullshit. I know because I played and own them all. They are fine as narrative driven “movie games,” but they are far from what I’m looking to invest my time in. In fact, I felt like every second playing those games was a waste of my time. Horizon had a cool setting, but that was it. And I’ve had it up to my eyeballs with skill trees... What an insult to my free time. Why so many people accept devs locking good controls, abilities and features behind artificial “skill” walls is beyond me. It just comes off as a lazy way to flesh out a game.

@goldenelementxl: QTE in GoW? Are you kidding? Sure it is a movie game and all that, but the only QTE I recall is when you occasionally mash the x button to lift something heavy.

Nope, use Gamepass, and I use Microsoft Rewards to pay for Gamepass. They are selling my randomly type morning searches (example: vreabvr8) and providing me with games, win win.

Then by your own admission it has QTE.

I got gamepass for a year @$70 so wont be buying anything and hopefully get another year on black friday. Only games ill look to buy are from Ubisoft, they take the longest to drop on gamepass. Save more money and play more games. Also have EA Access so no need to buy ea games either. So $160(xbl gold, gamepass and ea access)bucks a year def helps when before i was easily spending close to $1k on games a year.

@goldenelementxl: Okay, but it is just one press on the x-button and then you watch Kratos swing his axe through a giant monster's head. To me that's not much of a QTE. A real QTE game demands a long series of different button presses, the most legendary example being Dragon's Lair (Arcade). The Yakuza series and Shenmue also have some real QTE scenes.

I've brought the ones that interested me I don't believe in the concept of buying to support the platform.
