Anyone selling their current systems to buy new systems?

I have debated on selling all of my current gen stuff. Reason being is I almost never go back to play the older games once the new systems come out. Anyone doing the same thing?

I am sure I will regret it at first but for me, anytime the new and improved system comes out the other one sits there and collects dust.

Why play Killzone 3 when Shadowfall is out?

Why play Forza 4 when you can play 5?

Black Ops? Battlefield 3? Why even bother?

Just curious to see what you guys are planning. Right now I have the XBONE and PS4 paid off (Still probably selling the PS4)) But I have not pre-ordered games. Just imagine what I could get with all that trade credit? Hmm?

No. I'm not selling anything. I've sold consoles and games in the past, and I've regretted it every time.

I have enough space to keep them around, and some of my friends won't be buying next gen consoles for another few years, so they can still use my collection to keep them busy.

I sold one of my two Xbox and my ps3 and 50 games. Got 1000 for it all so not a bad deal but spent way mre then 1000 on it all but got probably 800 more then gamestop would

The only console I ever sold and regretted it was my PSP. Man I miss that thing.

I am thinking the only thing I would miss are the arcade games and those games you just know will never get a sequel like Kameo, Heavenly Sword....or the classics like Last of Us, Tomb Raider, or Bioshock.

But honestly, For people who do more than gaming (Some of us are fans of sports, or have hobbies like hiking or golfing, whatever.), the chances of me going back to play Uncharted 2 or Alan Wake once the new stuff is out is slim to zero. It almost seems more appropriate to sell them so someone who may not be able to get a new system can get some enjoyment out of it. I still know people rocking the PS2 while waiting on a PS3 price drop.

No, because I still have a massive backlog of games and there is no solid BC on the new systems. Money is also no issue so, I don't have to worry about trading in for credit towards a purchase.

Games for me are more than simple objects. They're memories. So I wont sell them even if I'll never play them again.

i am. how much are ps3 are going for on ebay these days? i still have my 20gb white 360 so i don't think any1 will buy that so i'll just give it to some1 and sell ps3. i know for a fact that i won't be using last gen when next gen comes so there's no reason for me to keep current gen systems.

I only sell systems i dont find any personal collection value in. I never sell systems to buy another system .

The only thing I might sell is my Wii when I get a Wii U.

I once sold my PS2 and regretted so much i bought it again. Can't hurt to keep it unless i really need the cash

I doubt I'd get even $50 for my used ps3 when the PS4 release is around the corner.

I still have a few games I want to play anyway. (XCOM: Enemy Within, Dishonored GOTY, and Dark Souls)

Yep. I don't have many games for my 360 or PS3 anyway so I won't be missing anything.

I'm not going to sell any of my consoles for the new ones.

I'm getting rid of them yeah but will be giving them away in a few weeks time. I have zero interest in revisiting this gen at any stage in the future.

Nope,I am keeping my PS3.Console still has game's coming out I wanna play.Mainly the Tales games.

I want to sell my PS3, but there are still some very good games coming out for it in 2014.

Traded in everything and made about 800 dollars. I don't go back and play my older systems. And if I want to play a game it'll probably be on the PC so I can just play it here.

I will be keeping my PS3 and adding a PS4 to sit beside it. Although I am not buying the PS4 any time soon.

I'll probably sell my 360 once I get around to finishing Halo 4 and Gears 3. Not sure when that will happen.

If they had BC then probably, since they don't hell no. I'd be missing way to many amazing games from this gen.

Well fellas I did it. I do not have one piece of videogame items in my house right now except my PC. But I have my XB1, PS4, all of the launch titles I want paid off (8 total), and about $400 in credit at Gamestop for future purposes.
I am thinking with the Cloud services we will see most of these games again, especially arcade titles. I wouldn't even be surprised to see remakes of Bioshock Infinite find its way to the new systems.

I only sell consoles if I get the same internal hardware that's a upgraded model, ie. DS to DS lite to DSi XL, PSP 1000 to PSPgo

The only way I would is if I could find somebody to buy my Gamertag for about $500 as well. I have way too many digital games and content to just throw in the trash.

I've decided to trade off my 360 games because most of my friends moved over to ps3 so I never ever have a reason to play my 360. I've played through and beaten all the exclusives I have for it and will probably just keep select titles like Alan Wake and the Fable series.

Sadly everything is going digital. Games will follow that trend eventually. I have looked back at every system I have ever known and one thing always happened. I quit gaming on the older systems after a few months all together and the stuff would set there for a year before I finally Ebay'd the stuff off.
I have other hobbies other than games and I don't consider myself a collector. I don't blame people for keeping their stuff and I do get envious when I see people's big collection.(I had about 50 360 games and around 40 PS3 games.)
But now I know I have enough trade credit to last me the next year if not more. And the games I do have in my collection will actually get played.

It is a risky choice though....I have seen the XB1 and PS4 in person. I am really not impressed with either one right now.

This is pretty much the situation I'm in. I always own all the consoles...never sell. You will always regret it.

I sold my DS and I really regret it, however in this case, I'll sell it when I'm finished with my backlog.

I have the XBox One preordered and I'm gradually selling my XBox 360 games (and my 360, after launch). I'm happy with just having the XBone and the Wii U. Eventually, it gets to be too much clutter, having too many systems around. Plus, it's time for a new generation.

From now on, I consider myself a video game collector. I will be keeping all my current games and PS3. My collection will only grow. Currently, I have about twenty physical copies of games and there are many games current gen games I have not played yet. Since not every great game is on PSN or has an HD port, remake, or remaster version, I have a reason to get games and consoles from previous generations. With the Wii U out and the others coming, now is a good time to get seventh gen games for low prices.

I will keep my 360 connected to my tv because there r a few games I'm still playing.

I sold my PS3 for a 3DS ages ago. Great investment. Not that I needed the money for it, but my PS3 has been gathering dust for awhile.

Nope. I keep all my games and consoles. Not sure why, because I never go back and play them. I just don't like parting with them especially for the chump change you get when selling.

Nope. Always keep all my consoles and games. I do dig them out on occasion. Have my N64 plugged in at the moment actually!

Yeah that's the thing if u sell ur hardware they wont give u much for them.

Maybe, this time. I could do with the space and with the current gen trend of releasing unfinished games then releasing the rest of the game as DLC, going back to play those games won't feel the same as booting up the NES to play Battletoads.

^^This^^ It took me a long time to figure it out but I've finanlly learned my lesson. I've re-bought every system/games I've sold off...some games are still stupid expensive to re-buy IMO
