Apparently, Xbox Live accounts are being hacked at an alarming pace.

There's an increasing number of people claiming that their accounts have been hacked and usernames changed with their regions changed to Russia and the like with credit cards actually being used.

It hasn't hit the media yet, but speaking with a Microsoft representative actually has them respond that there is currently a problem with Live, lol. A couple of my close personal friends who are huge Xboxers had their accounts hacked. One didn't have a credit card, but his username was changed. Another friend had his credit card used for well over $100 worth of Microsoft points and his account region was changed to Russia.

Which is funny... because I don't recall anyone's PSN/Steam/etc. accounts being hacked at this rate with credit cards being fraudulantly used... and those types of accounts are free. Thank God I switched to PS3 and closed my Xbox Live account.

I've been hearing a TON of hack stories related to Xbox Live this last month, something is definatly wrong, bad bad news for Microsoft, that fact that it's the only service you have to pay for to play online and this is happening is going to be REALLY bad for business.

You people are crazy, Xbox live accounts cant be hacked, they are protected by the Microsoft

Well it shows the 360 in a bad light so, all System Wars needs is anecdotal evidence.

If it's "so bad", then how come there isn't more news about it? Chances are these "hackings" are just people who got scammed one way or another.

Really... cause mine's fine and no one I know has had their account hacked. There's no stories officially about it, and you know, this would be news worthy. Possibly COW attempt to spin bad news while gears is on its high horse? If not, well then that really sucks.

Seriously though, I haven't seen anything yet to indicate this isn't just a huge rash of people duped by phishing scams. Still, I thought that's why people pay for Gold... because they actively protect you and go around shutting stuff like this down...

I dont see how they are praying for people to get hacked though,some are laughing at the situation but no one was praying for it to get hacked.
