Actually, GameSpot was the one who made the "World of StarCraft" April Fools joke.

Blizzard will announce that the Vivendi/Activision merge has resulted in StarCraft II being combined with Guitar Hero IV to make "Guitar Star Crafter" which will be a game about a Terran corporation executive and his search for the best band in the StarCraft Universe.

Valve will announce that Half-Life 3 will not feature the Gravity Gun, but will instead feature an Anti-Gravity Gun, which will PREVENT objects from moving.

Nintendo will announce that they are combining the main Mario Platformer series with the Mario Party Franchise, so each Mario game will feature several platforming mini-games, and there will be a new Mario Game every 2 months.

EGM had a great one in Shen Long. You don't know just how many people fell for it even if it was the APRIL issue! Back in college, so many of my mates plunked down how many quarters to try to access him it wasn't even funny! Sigh, nothing can ever top that!

I wonder what happen if Nintendo say, "Announces" that the wiimote doesn't work and will be going to a traditional controller soon. Or MS decides to back out of the Japanese market and will not ask for Japanese support in return. Blizzard will announce they are stopping operating WoW so they can concentrate on the development of STarcraft II or Sony saying they will be releasing the PS4 due to the slow sales of the PS3! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!

MS might announce they solved the problem for the famous RROD :) that would definately fool blind fanboys...

i'd love it if some dev revealed a big new game .. like nintendo showing of a new zelda

we'd all think it was fake, but slowly realise over the next few weeks that it was actually real all along

a mix of real and fake info on the day would keep everyone on their toes and cause so much confusion
