An MMO with Crysis graphics? Total population: 12. WoW as an MMO is successful, not only because its a great game, but because the system requirements aren't demanding. If you only allow high end systems to play the game, you lose a massive amount of possible subscribers. That's why all of Blizzards games, including upcoming titles, aren't system heavy.

It looks beautiful and thats all to it.
I can only imagine PvP with, lets say, 50 people on a single map, with those graaphics. Lots of GPU's are going to get fried. :)
I like the idea of using the CryEngine 2 or 3 for an MMO, but the MMO itself has to be fun. Lots of cool possibilities, though it will all have to be zoned and instanced if any of that destruction is going to go into the game.
Would be pretty sweet to see a 24-40 man raid with that kind of destruction in the levels.

I played Aion and found it incredibly generic....
Issues is MMO need to make money and if their system requirements are high for the average consumer no one would play it (I'd give it a shot though)I like the idea of using the CryEngine 2 or 3 for an MMO, but the MMO itself has to be fun. forget this crap.... I'll be playing SW:TOR, any game needs to be fun first, prettiness should come second.

That is true, but more and more gamers are upgrading to DX 10 cards. There is enough of a consumer base for them to support higher specs. By the time the game sees release there will be plenty of DX10/DX11 cards on the market.
It's not like when Crysis came out and people were only upgrading to the G70 series.
Did you try running WoW at an HD resolution with max settings back in 2004? Didn't think so. @topic, the game looks amazing. An MMO with Crysis graphics? Total population: 12. [QUOTE="Twin-Blade"]Well, the CE2 does scale nicely. Not very well, APB is flopping partly because you need a beefy system to keep it running. It uses the UE3 engine. An MMO with Crysis graphics? Well, to be fair I've only been to the first town. :P I had no desire to play on though. It just felt generic. I loved flying though. :)
Here's a better video of Archage.

Aion looks great but it's so boring to play. this game seems like it uses the physics engine for environments which i've not seen any mmo's do yet so that'll be interesting.Eh...looks too much like crysis/boring. Much prefer the look of Aion...which is just gorgeous.

Looks alright but really anouther fantasy mmo they have been done to death, plus with a fantasy mmo the game goes up against WOW which is something at this point is near impossible to beat in the near future.xxmatt125xxWoW as an MMO is pretty shallow, so why does it have to be beaten in popularity to be beaten as a quality MMO?

WoW isn't shallow it's just too casual atm. Burning crusade had the correct balance imo.

WoWs just masterfully constructed though. The level design, artstyle, it's just miles ahead of every other MMO imo.

I prefered Vanilla, but I agree TBC had a good balance, wrath of the lich king was just pathetic. Not really a problem if the game's graphics are designed to be scalable. Most MMOs are designed to be scalable, what really kills them by the bucketloads is when they failed to deliver enough content or reason for gamers to stay with that game. Graphics play a factor but not the main reason. An MMO with Crysis graphics? Total population: 12.
