Are casual gamers hardcore ?

Why is it that kids or certain male adults who own a 360 or ps3 all of a sudden think they are hardcore. They own either Halo or a Modern Warfare game and shun games that are very Nintendo like. I don't like these new gamers, they are so annoying and think they know it all when it comes to gaming. Why do these gamers think they are Hardcore ?

This has always existed. They will either leave or with time, actually become regular gamers or hardcore gamers(or whatever you want to call them).

Mature rating = hardcore.

I don't really know what the definition of hardcore/casual gaming is. Nor do I care. I play games that interest me and are fun.

Mario was kiddy. Sonic was teen :cool:. The kiddy stuff was basically invented by Sega ads.

There is no defention to me. We are all gamers at the end of the day rather if's playing Farmville or Angry Birds or Skyrim or COD there all games.

Those who are hardcore tend not to post on gaming forums. They tend to spend the entirety of their spare time devoted to playing their game-idol and perfecting their interactive relationship with it (i.e. playing so much Ikaruga that one can play two player by oneself).foxhound_fox

I am a casual gamer. I play 1-3 hours a day every day. It represents having fun, to relax...not that it is my job or anything. I enjoy it until I will grow up and find playing games a waste of time.

Also, where do you see this "hardcore kids". Give me an example with a link if possible.
