Are consoles immune to bullcrap?

Just out of my curiosity, have there been any sort of occurence where console gamers are given some unfavorable outcomes that punish a particular platrorm (Like how MW2 punished the PC gamers with IWnet and took away the features that made Call of Duty a PC game)
