I've always heard that XBL is faster for downloads, but I got a 360 about 6 months ago and I find it about the same. Is it my connection or is XBL actually about the same as PSN when it comes to downloads?

As far as demos and videos go.Yeah.
Updates on the other take less than 5 seconds on the 360.
Ps3 is another story.
I see, so updates are faster, but game downloads about the same.As far as demos and videos go.Yeah.

I don't know if XBL has unlimited bandwidth on their servers but PSN slows down sometimes even when there's nothing up with my connection. It was because of PSN servers being busy.
No you have to install downloads.but because of the cell processor the ps3 continues downloads in-game while the xbox can't as it would struggle playing the game.koryukMeh,sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Does it anger your soul?No you have to install downloads.but because of the cell processor the ps3 continues downloads in-game while the xbox can't as it would struggle playing the game.koryukWhat exactly are you trying to say here? the PS3 hardly ever does background downloads and pretty much everything on the xbox 360 can be downloaded in the background or takes less than 30 seconds anyway. I hate updating on my PS3 its slow and a lot of games are unstable (stares at Resistance 3).
I've done enough tests to know the ps3 uses at most 25% of my 20mbps downline.
so yes it is generally slower on psn and alot of people have experienced the same.

Both using wireless in my house, the 360 downloads things much faster on average than my PS3. I dont think its advertised as being faster or anything, but in my house certainly is.
No you have to install downloads.but because of the cell processor the ps3 continues downloads in-game while the xbox can't as it would struggle playing the game.koryukThe xbox only stops downloads when playing online as to free up bandwidth. The xbox had background downloads even before the ps3 did

This not downloading while gaming on 360 is a lie.

updates on 360 have a capped limit of bout 15mb im sure, ps is unlimited.Partially a reason xbl updates take less times.

PSN does the same as that i remember playing oblivion and dling the DMC4 demo much like im playing MGS HD collection and a Forza car pack is dling in the background.

The only time they stop downloading is when doing anything online-related in game such as multiplayer. It even downloads during using apps such as netflix and Hulu.
Downloading updates for games are usually significantly faster on XBL than PSN, however as far as just downloading demo's or movies or games ect...it's basically the same.
I think it's because of XBL being a little better integrated than PSN, still not worth the price though IMO.
What price? You don't need gold for downloads or demos.Downloading updates for games are usually significantly faster on XBL than PSN, however as far as just downloading demo's or movies or games ect...it's basically the same.

idk, it always took way longer for me to DL things from the psn store. maybe its because i couldn't turn off my ps3 while i download something so it was more noticeable but it always felt slower. As far as demos and videos go.Yeah.

yea you can spend about 20 min on updates for ps3 and their alot more frequent
I don't care but i'm so mad with Sony right now for fvcking around with the store; they've shafted EU users who can no longer access their downloads, whilst they're still happy to take our money for them. God knows what's going to happen to my DLC one-time redemption code which looks to have been swallowed by the store.
Good job Sony on reminding me why i'm going Nintendo next gen.

The original/fat PS3s also had terrible, terrible wireless cards in them - that might be what's up on your end.No you have to install downloads.but because of the cell processor the ps3 continues downloads in-game while the xbox can't as it would struggle playing the game.koryukLol nope, Xbox does it in games that connect to the internet, you can play plenty of games whilst you're downloading as long as you're not playing online or the game isn't connecting in some way.

No you have to install downloads.but because of the cell processor the ps3 continues downloads in-game while the xbox can't as it would struggle playing the game.koryuk"Teh Cell!" It's been a while since I've heard this kind of propaganda. You are wrong, the 360 downloads in-game as well (it only stops the download if you have to update content through the internet, i.e. leaderboard data, etc.). The overall difference between the 360 and PS3 is that the PS3 needs a separate period to install the update or demo while the 360 does not, which can get annoying.
None of my PSN downloads take longer then they would on 360. I can download a full game and install it in under an hour just like on 360. The only reason updates take longer is the file sizes are larger.
