Are High Wii Fit Sales a "Victory" for Sheep?

Eh I'm kind of a sheep because Nintendo is tied with Namco for 2nd greatest video game makers of all time (no one beats Blizzard :P), and I'm kind of hoping WiiFit doesn't sell a crazy amount because it will mean that Nintendo will put more of its resources into making games like this, which from a stockholder perspective would be appealing, but to me that wouldn't be very appealing because I don't like these kinds of games I'm more into Fire Emblem and Zelda.

I mean, seriously in all honesty, is that what you want? Is that what you want for your console and is that what you want to sell well on the console? Prosecuting those getting something they enjoy and are happy with that has yet to be fully released and reviewed? Why would you insult others for getting what they enjoy, it's borderline hypocritical. You're not going to change a significant amount of sales with this thread, so why do you bother? How do you know that the majority of people don't want games like that. How do you know that games in that genre are not the best games ever? Because you and critical opinions say so? Are you really going to stop the sales in the first place? What is the point of this thread?

its a game for the Wii, just like Halo or Call of Duty are for the Xbox. Sure its a different type of game, but if it sells its still a victory

I thought all the pro-Wii fit posts were sarcasm. I cant believe people seriously view it as a real game or whatever.

i'll put it this way, some would win the battle but if it sold better than brawl gamers would overall lose the war

This is something I always find funny in the GS community. Half the time the PS3-Fanboys and the 360-Fanboys squabble about petty sales or which console is going to die or God-forbid the format war, but then whenever a Wii game sells well or a casual game (which I gotta say I may look into if I get some extra cash this summer, then again with GTA4 coming up soon that may not be possible) comes out, the other Fanboys start bashing the Wii and claiming that all Wii-Fanboys want is sales and for their game to sell well. Stop stereotyping, and get out of System Wars. AND just to rub it in your face, I think I will buy Wii Fit when it launches, just gotta find some extra cash.Shinno441

Yes unlike the game that you speak of which is one of the biggest one hit wonders we've had in recent time. Although to be fair it would have to be a hit in the first place which it wasn't.

So yes, you're supporting a title that had one of the largest bases in the history of gaming yet couldn't even sell enough copies to keep the company afloat. Great job.

Ugh. I'm not a "hardcore gamer" but this WiiFit is going to be garbage. It's a gimmick in my opinion.

And ya know, with all this talk about MS patenting a new motion control device, I really hate to think they might be heading down the path of Nintendo too. I have my beefs with the Xbox 360, but I really hope MS doesnt start doing the casual thing. I really dont want to see 360Fit on the 360.

I hope MS and Sony dont follow suit with Nintendo. The Sixaxis? Ok, it's not that bad, not bad enough to build a game around. The WiiMote? It is. I just hope they let the Wii be the Wii, and let their products hold the same core value we bought them for - non-casual games.

I dont mean to sound like a Wii hater, I'm not. But WiiFit is going to sell good, and I dont want that to raise MS's or Sony's brows.

People play what they like, obviously no one liked the game you're talking about, if they did they might actually shell out some money to do it.

On the other hand people find something they want in Wii Fit and many more people are finding something in it each week.

It HAD to be something besides the fact that the game just wasn't worth it's asking price (that fell rapidly and still sat on the shelf)

It is a real game. One could argue that Guitar Hero, DDR and even Halo are also not games, it's easier just to not place a lign rather than argue were it is

If it's a decent, fun game I don't care what audience Wii Fit is aimed at. Whether a game is aimed at casual or hardcore gamers does not dictate my purchases.
