Are my friends really unlucky or does the XBOX360 break down that often?

My friend got the red lights and sent it in for repairs. He gets it back just in time for Halo 3 then a week later he get the red lights. It seems that everyone I know that has an XBOX360 has had their breakdown. Are they that unreliable? I keep botheringhimsaying I'm going to be playing Assassin's Creed on my PS3 while they stare at red lights and scratched discs.

its pretty bad ... but ms did give out the 3 year warranty ... which kinda jastifies the issue. Somewhat.humber_matus

warrenty doesn't stop it breaking. they should let you swap it at any shop for a new one rather than making you wait 2 weeks for them to try and fix it.

i have been playing 360 since it came out not had a problem, but i work so only play on it for about 3 hours a day.

tell your friends to get a job and not play all day :P

Ive had mine for over a year and a half never had single problem andthe same can be said formy two friends with theirs

Well I find it pretty sad that the 360 forum is the only forum with a thread specifically for broken systems.

If that doesn't say anything then i don't know what does.

Mine still has not broke down yet. But I do know this is a real issue. But having to wait 4 to 6 weeks to get your 360 is just plane wrong :(

lems , think for a while. if there's no problem to the 360, why would you keep hearing the Falcon 360 is being made and why the heck would MS blow 1 billion dollar to get your a$$ covered?

If that were the case I don't think the 360 would be selling so well as it does now.

If that percentage where real, there would be now way for Microsoft to get out of a total-recall situation.

I'm sure that the failure rate of the 360 is way above normal, but some folks just go over the top with these numbers. :lol:
