They only made some of the best games of last gen... Quality wise only Nintendo and R* put out as much good games on consoles as them.

If they were heralded for their MP, I would say yes. I enjoyed TLOU MP a bit, but SP, cinematic, story type games seems to be their forte.

Forget about seeing something new and Innovative, They couldn't even nail the conventional stuff in the Uncharted games. Although I find nothing special about TLOU's story, its the first time I've seen Naughty Dog get the gameplay right,

Yes, they are insanely overrated. That said, The Last of Us is probably one of the top 10 games last gen and UC2 and probably top 20. Their other games are mediocre most of the time. They're great devs they're just not very consistent.

I love Valve games but stating their games are highly diverse is quite a stretch...

They created one amazing series Half-Life with a great plot, an amazing mp only shooter TF2 & another great one Counter Strike..

As for the rest they created decent titles such as L4D & Portal...

Keep in mind with the exception of Half-life none of the others contain intriguing stories just mp competitive/coop only...

Also I don't see diversity considering all the above are 1st person shooters !!

They make those kind of games where you play it once and forget about. Not a fan of movie games. Once you went through the story once there's no point repeating it.

Since you brought up Valve, Valve games are the opposite. Little to no story at all but huge replayability.

Also as much as I love Dota2, its a sequel to a freakin mod which many had already been playing.. Surely DOTA2 looks better and vastly improved but don't give credit to Valve for something they didn't create :)

Tomb Raider was a ground breaking series.

Valve is way more overrated than ND. Halflife is meh. The Portal games are funny but the actual gameplay is boring. Dota 2 is alright. Team Fortress is meh. Left 4 Dead is easily their best franchise and desperately needs a next gen sequel.

At least all the titles by ND were their original creations... Imo both Valve & ND are amazing since they created some of the best games I've played and still play...

TLOU is easily one of the best ganes made, period.

Uncharted series is one of the best of last gen.

They made Crash Bandicoot, Jak&Daxter too.

R* is the only other company i would say that makes games as good as them

If Uncharted and TLOU was on PC, it wouldn't be worth playing, because there's better games to spend time on.

If you gave me these games for free in my Steam library, they're not worth an install.

The best games that I've found were third-party AAA games like RDR, GTA IV, Far Cry 3, Fallout 3, Ass Creed, Mass Effect and so forth.

I almost feel bad for console companies, they pay millions to fund shit libraries, their adolescent fans play those trash games and think they're good.

And no I don't think the PC is very far ahead.

Because as I said, the best games are alot of third-party AAA's that sometimes don't come to PC like GTA V and RDR.

Those are the games that are actually good and worth buying a system for.

Pretty much the best "must-play" games of the last, say, 10 years, have all been available (but not exclusive to) the Xbox360.

well developing a game and publishing a game are different.. By your reasoning then why not compare Valve & Sony..

Sony made Uncharted / TLOU cause they own ND.. In that case lets compare the games by Valve with the games created/published by Sony and we can decide which has the best library in terms on quantity, diversity & quality !!!

I think the best compliment you can pay Naughty Dog, as developers, is the amount of attention their games get from Lems and Hermits. Thread after thread of pure hatred aimed at Uncharted and TLOU. Shows the levels of jealousy they reach with the competition. Just take a moment to count the Lems and Hermits on this thread.

It's like when Sony fanboys start threads just to slag off Forza. They do it because they know it's the best on the market so aim their pot shots at it.

I for one rate ND above R* as developers. Never been disappointed in a game they have made and even their worst title (U3) is still great fun to play (and a 92 on metacritic). I'm currently playing through TLOU for the 7th time and I still get those WOW moments. Pure class.

Maybe is just you and your bias underestimating them... Some people are just like that, they love to hate what is popular because elitism, maybe you're one those?

They deserve the awards, but fanboys like you hype them up to be "teh bestest ever!!!" which they aren't.

Yes they are overrated. Their best games are AMAZING (Jak 3, Uncharted 2, Last Of Us). But they have made plenty of "just good" games like the other Jak and Uncharted titles. I don't like when folks pretend they make consistently amazing games like Rockstar or Bioware. (Yes we are ignoring GTAIV and Dragon Age II in this example :P)
