Sersouly I barely heard of this game last gen and was just passed by.Now all of a sudden the sequal gets released at people are already praising it.Why?My main thoery is that Sheep are hyping it becasue its a mature game that will stop the kitty comments(which it wont)
Well, just because you didn't hear about it... Seriously, Manhunt was one of the most controversial games to come out last gen and is also one of the most divisive. Some love it for its gritty story and its sheer, unrelenting brutality, others dispise it as nothing more than a polygonal snuff film.
However, it does seem the whole kid arguement has died down quite a bit since then. Will be harder and harder to call it a kiddie system if more and more mature titles end up being ported (or perhaps even developed) for the Wii.

not even that. It's being talked about because A) it shows teh Wii is getting some serious looks by 3rd partys, and B) It's about as mature a game as you can make... and apparently 3rd partys think there is a market for such a game on the Wii.

This thread shows how many fanboys there are. No one is hyping Manhunt. The only reason that there have been threads about it is because there have been several news stories saying that "Parents" are concerned because the Wii is getting an M game. I have 0 interest in this game and I'm a sheep.
It's not being hyped, it's being discussed. It's a sequel to an extremely controversial game, the original drew quite a bit of discussion. Also, the Wii has about half a dozen mature games, and if a game was being hyped for being M, a much better game could have been picked. The closest thing to hype is when it's brought up, due to the "kiddy" Nintendo argument. The fact is, this is an extremely brutal game, and the fact that it's being developed for the Wii, and the fact that Nintendo approves of it being on their console, bodes well for the future of mature games on the Wii.
I believe the first one was good from what I hear, why not expect the second one to be good as well? Especially with the creative license given by the Wiimote?

Nobody has hyped it, I don't even think there have been many threads about it. You might be hallucinating. The Wii has enough M rated games coming out (Scarface, GodFather, Driver: Parallel Lines, etc) that I don't think anyone will care for just one more.

"Nintendo is not the kiddy" is not hype... Hype is When you say how a game is going to get rated. There has been no speculation on that.

They are reporting news on the game and it's availibility on their console. Nothing of "hype" like predictions for scores and stuff. Heck... I've yet to see anyone say anything other than "Will Manhunt ruin Nintendo's image?" Meaning most every post regarding Manhunt 2 is not "hype" but a "question" for discussion on this game and it coming for the Wii.
