Are shooters all developers know how to make?

I'm so sick of games with guns. This gen all you have a choice of is Liniar action games RE4 style with guns or FPS games with guns. This gen has some cool technology but lacks games with creativity. Even the RPGs and sandbox gamesuse guns. What ever happend to games with swords?

True, in the age when most things big were, for example, platformer or JRPG, shooter fans were left aside. Now they get to enjoy their games while on the spotlight. It's not like if every genre that dominates in a gen is the only genre that exists right?

If anything, developers have forgot how to make them.

Have you spent even 30 seconds looking through the platform specific sections here on Gamespot? There are tons of games without guns... I'd say just as many as those with, and on some platforms (Wii) even more without than with.

*goes back* Amnesia, Minecraft, every Wii game I own (I own over 20 btw), Mount&Blade, Oblivion, Limbo, the Little Big Planet main quest, Divinity 2, God of War 3 dont use guns either.

Batman AA Demons souls yakuza 3 Assassins creed 2 Bayonetta 3d dot game heroes Super street fighter 4 BlazBlue NFS shift Burnout Paradise Tekken 6 Heavenly Sword Final Fantasy 13 Star Ocean (not owned but played) LBP Motorstorm PR God of war 3 GT5 Prototype Darksiders Infamous if u dont like any of these games then its ur bad luck. and then theres games i down own like dead rising 2 / enslaved / starwars force unleashed 2 / castlevania / modnation racers / heavy raincampzor

Good shooters sell, period. U can have a good RPG or whatever and it still might not sell.

besides get off my back i bought some indie games off xbla as penance for my sins.
