I picked it up today, mainly for the UFC fitness game. I got Dance Central too which is pretty fun..but again, pretty limited.

Is there actually any good GAMES coming out? Seems like a great device if you want to lose weight and work out in your room. But that's about it.

That thing is just a gimmick, you will have it collecting dust in no time. Everyone I know who got this or Move use them as paperweights.

Well unlike Move, the Kinect is actually very helpful when doing non-gaming applications like Netflix, or the soon-to-be-released voice-based 360 browser. So while I don't play Kinect games often, I use Kinect practically every time I use the Netflix app, and I'm sure I'll be using the voice-browser.

We'll see what Rise of Nightmares and Gunstringer bring in, they are supposed to be "good" games for "core" players.

I doubt many people would rather use Kinect than a normal controller with feedback for that kind of stuff.

It's not an either or sort of thing, though. If you have a Kinect, it's an option... maybe a lot of people don't use it, but it's really nice to have everyone able to pause, FF etc. Netflix shows. I don't care if I'm in the minority so long as I'm happy.

Its a revolutionary device, the new dahsboard update will be fully Kinect functional. The best perpherial going and the sales prove it. Congrats on your worthy purchase.

Funny you should ask!
The below are out shortly.

The Gunstringer won't be bad. But I expect it to be fleeting entertainment. While the controls actually sort of work in a way that's fun, it doesn't seem too substantial, neither in terms of mechanics or content. Fan of all the goofy stuff they're doing around the game though. So basically it's a Twisted Pixel game.

Rise of Nightmares also doesn't seem bad. Looks weird and maybe alright? Combat I reckon looks quite bad. But hey, navigation control on Kinect that works! And it has that distinct Sega feel and reminds me of a haunted house attraction. The reviews so far have been alright at least.

I know this is system wars so saying i'm not interested in console wars is a bit like going to a bar and not buying a drink. But i'm not interested in console wars. It's so...pointless. And i'm not 15 anymore.

yeah i hear you, Kinect is awesome, you will be very pleased, MS is dedicated to making it better and better. I say in a year it will recognize fingers as it can be done with a firmware upgrade. That will also open up alot of things. The new NUI that is coming out for the dashboard is also revolutionary. Its a good buy, also try the fitness evolved games, they are better than UFC, scored A here as well.

Do you actually know what you're talking about? Do some of the intense UFC training and get back to me.

It's not bad. I guess it depends on what you're looking for and how fit you are. If you're overweight or not fit i would suggest starting with something a bit easier going. A friend of mine is a fitness instructor and we took turns doing the harder stuff, i was barely able to finish and he found it very difficult too(keep in mind in's a non stop heavy cardio workout for an hour)There are troubles with the ''floor'' workouts, so you'll need to have your kinect in the best position possible. It's never going to count your reps spot on, but for people trying to get fit, it dosen't really matter. You'll get a good workout just trying to keep up. And for people trying to lose weight, well, getting off your ass is a great start.

I'm curious about the EA fitness game and Your Shape(i'll be picking both up) A friend of mine who is very overweight has the biggest loser game and is doing well with that. I thought only the second EA fitness game was out for the 360?

Just dance and good dont mix man they just dont mix :P i can see it being a ripoff of dance central.

Dance central's good for a laugh but not much more only dev i've really seen using Kinect and using it fairly well tbh Harmonix do tend to make amazing unorthodox games.

Lol, I dont get it either, seems like some have an agenda against the Kinect, so upset it has been a success.
