i mean i wouldnt mind having a new gen but i have bought many games on my 360 and lots of gamerscore on my live account, but what if in the stange event of a new console gen the xbox fails and crashes and burns and all our beloved ms points and gamerscore go down the drain while the ps4 and wii2 battle it out in the war of the casual gamer i am happy with this gen and wouldnt like to see a new gen in a while
Ofcourse I want a new generation of consoles, if you asked "right now?" then no.
A year or two, then I would prefer a new gen comming out, the jump from the last gen to this gen, was so minimal, and limited that it was downright anticlimatic. I kindof see the next gen as what we were promised this one would be.
Besides, I hate to see things stagnate ;) Just hope they get time to build and test thier systems, so we wont get this gens mess of failure rates the next time.

I think that the Nintendo needs a new console.I would love if they got back to normal controlers,motion sensing is just eh.
I think that the ps3 and the 360 can handle another 5 years,Specially the ps3.

yeeahh i agree on that the wii is pretty much last gen with motion controls lol i just hope they dnt ruin consoles like they do with movies now and days with 3D as the selling point
The consumer is not ready for new gen consoles. It will be the dumbest thing if they released one in a year. In fact the average gamer is JUST settling in. A lot of people still have a PS2 and haven't jumped yet.
I will say that the market is ready for something new as we have seen significant hardware sales drops (sans new 360). It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the Kinect and Move.
Nintendo does imo, they seem to be advancing with the 3DS... new Wii maybe? PS3 and 360? Nah. Good enough for me right now. After playing a PS2 or a Wii the graphics on the PS3 and 360 just look to good.

I completely agree with this post, but I have a question. What else can reasonably be done with consoles now? Barring gargantuan leaps in tech(virtual reality or 3d gaming or something), then I think that the next few gens of consoles will be like this one; minimal upgrades to established ideas.
not really interested in the next generation simply because powerful hardware really hasnt evolved any of the genre's thus far. shooters, rpgs, and stuff are mostly the same. and i dont expect to see gaming philosophies change because of new powerful hardware. Just look at PC gaming. its remained reltively the same for the past 10-12 years. Just my 2 cents. (Even though an evolution in physics system would make things interesting again)
