Are you going to buy Left 4 Dead 2???

I know that a lot of people are thinking about not getting it because its so similar to the original or they are part of the boycott.
I want to hear the opinions!

Yeah, spent dozens upon dozens of hours playing L4D, and the mods with my friend. However versus is terrible imo. Hopefully the multiplayer modes in L4D2 is a little better.
L4D2 is going to be better than that, so not buying it would be a stupid move on my part.
il probably get it on a steam sale or somethin when its around $30-20...l4d1 price dropped very quickly after release, hopefully it'll be the same for l4d2kidcool189
This. I don't feel that L4D2 is worth another $50 so soon after seeing how Valve botched support for the first.

i wouldnt say they botched support for it, i mean they JUST came out with a new pack of DLC. Crash Course. i mean they released it a month before left 4 dead 2. I would say thats pretty good support.

That was their first DLC campaign and it was really underwhelming.......the level design is pretty bad and bland(for Valve standards). No thanks, the first one didn't have near enough to warrant 49.99$. This should have been free for those who purchased the first one.....it still probably wouldn't warrant enough money for a full dollar game. Lethalhazard
Thats completely outrageous. I mean its 5 new campaigns, new weapons, new characters, new story, new zombies, i mean seriously, what are you talking about???

And valve said that they are going to continue to support the game.

I wouldn't call it good.
A. Took them forever to release mod tools
B. Took even longer for them to add proper addon support/matchmaking
C. Both DLC they have released have sucked. Survival mode is terrible and Crash Course was pathetic compared to the quality of the original campaigns. And I'm not even complaining about the length (I think the move to shorter VS mode maps is great) but for the amount they released I really expected a lot more from Valve, especially since other games like World at War and Killing Floor have had better and more game-changing updates than L4D has.
Yeah, I'm gettin it for 360. The replay value is through the roof so I don't even listen to the "lack of content" complaints.

Thats true, but you have to understand, Valve is a small company. and so they have to divide their resources between games. But you're right, those games have had better support than left 4 dead.

The support for L4D has been kind of weak, but at least we're getting something. Plus, Valve has stated that Crash Course was NOT the last DLC for it. There will be more. :)Thats true, but you have to understand, Valve is a small company. and so they have to divide their resources between games. They've had no problem supporting TF2. I was expecting that quality of service from them when I bought L4D.
No, I don't support yearly sequels. Especially when Half Life 2 Episode 3 still isn't out and it's been 2 and a half years.
Gonna stick with the first Left 4 Dead on PC until part 3 comes out in fall 2010, then i'll get that.

That's nothing compared to a full game to the likes of say, Half-life 2. I just don't think it's worth a full price tag when you compare it to other games that have great gameplay mechanics and a ton of content for the same price. Please Log In to post.
