Are you a collector? Do you enjoying collecting games and/or fan memorabilia?

As far as collections go, I try to keep a library of all games I liked or am interested in. Because of digital, it's much easier, don't have to worry about taking up too much space. But then there are certain games that I consider really special, that I try to get a physical copy if interested. My MGS collection isn't that special I guess, but I have physical copies of MGS 1 - 4, plus I also have Ghost Babel for Gameboy which is considered rare. Also have the MGS 1 - 4 art book collection which I haven't opened lol. Also have a 11 inch MGS V figure of Boss that I bought form Japan. As far as other franchises I like to collect now - Persona and more recently, Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

How about you, SW? Are you a collector? Do you enjoying collecting games and/or fan memorabilia?

I can't find my cartridge of Ghost Babel, and that makes me really sad when i see the box, but yes i'm obsessed with collecting everything i can from Valkyria Chronicles with the exception of oversexualized Selvaria figures.

Would I like to? Yes. Do I have the space? No. If I ever sell my place (which is unlikely as property prices are rocketing in my condos,) i'd like a dedicated gaming/collection area to nerd out in.

Lol. Man cave is a top priority when buying a house or condo.

Technically, my whole place is a man-cave for now lol. Still... Shag-all storage.

I'm still collecting for my Sega Game Gear. Just about done with my collection for it though. Other than that, I still have my Genesis and I have a pretty decent Playstation collection.

But not only figures, as i said everything i can get my hands on; artbooks, soundtracks, manga and even some other things, I have some stuff from other franchises, but Valkyria Chronicles is the only one i collect thoroughly.

I collect some stuff, but not games.

I’m somewhat of a collector in that I keep my systems and games that I like. This is why I prefer to get my games on physical formats. I like to collect some gaming memorabilia but don’t currently have a whole lot of that kind of stuff.

Wow, that's very detailed. @Renegade_Fury would appreciate this. He's a Valkyria Chronicles fan as well. This is the MGS figure I have. I wish I had the original Solid Snake one, but it's super expensive.

No. I don't have much interest in memorabilia. There's really no game I care enough about to collect things for either.

I collect sorta. I only buy games I want to play and never get rid of them. So I'm not one of those collectors that has to have a complete NES collection, I just want the games I like or want to play. I think right now I have 21 consoles, a few handhelds and roughly 1000 games total (that number could be way off as I've never counted my collection).

I also collect odds and ends for games and movies I like. Posters and figures mostly.

I have a record collection. I haven't added to it in a while though.

I still have my SNES and PS1 RPG collections, but I don't add to that either. I have most of what I want.

Heh you could say I collect computer hardware as well.

I have a game collection spanning just about everything you can think of. Yes I am working on complete sets of NES, SNES, GEN, and also growing ps1, 2, and Xbox, 360.

I also collect some Nintendo memorabilia and like physical media and other collectibles.

When I move it is a priority to have a big finished basement so I have room to expand, because it's getting very hard to find room for things these days.

I have collected a collectable card game.

And they are expensive.

So when you collect a collectable card game.

You won't be not collecting nothing else.

Those are pretty cool. As for myself, I don't collect anything specific; just more so stuff that I happen to come across. For figures, the only "fancy" one I have is of this Mega Man X. I don't have a pic of mine, but I switched faces and have him posing shooting his X buster.

I have bins full of retro consoles and games. I have over 100 Amiibo and a dozen or so other collectors editions with statues and stuff. I have 3 young kids so I have to keep things out of sight or they will be destroyed.

Never used to be a collector in sense of getting limited edition games. I liked hunting down hard to find games to play them and looking for deals when I could because rare stuff can be pricey. Since going digital though such things have never really appealed, mostly just care to play the games. Most stuff being available to download means there's never scarcity. Downside once in a while if licensing deals prevent games from being available but if I can acquire it before then it is not an issue.

I am a collector.

I used to have one of the biggest Sega collections in Australia with over a thousand games across all Sega's consoles, not only that but I only ever bought a game that had the case & instructional manual.

Now I don't really have that many games that I keep now, most I finish get sick of and trade in.

As for memorabilia nah not really, only have footy cards.

If I had the money to spent I'd probably order all kinds of little statues and crap. I do have a little Turtles collection though :D

So what did you do with the collection? Sold it? Gave it to someone?

@Epak_: Those Turtle statues are sweet. How much did they cost you? I would love to put a set of those in my comic room.

On subject. I have all my old systems and most of the games I've picked up in the last 25 years, but they just sit in boxes in my closet in case I feel the need to get nostalgic, which isn't too often. More of a saver than a collector.

@heathen75: Don't know if there are any genuine figures left, pretty sure mine are fakes, good fakes, but fakes nonetheless. Got them from ebay.co.uk. I watched those Turtles movies so many times as a kid, I just had to have these. The ones in the background are repros of the figures I used to have as a kid.

Nope. I tend to buy, play and then resell. Then i sell my console with games and controllers to fund my next console (PS5)

I rarely replay games so keeping it and doing nothing with it doesn't make sense for me.

I like to collect some old games. Don't care for the toys though.
